Here's what I thought would happen: something simple, straightforward and according to plan.
Here's what happened:
New York closed yesterday, then flat <- called this, twas easy
London opened, went up <- who is moving price up and why???
JPM manipulates earnings, AU goes down, S&P500 futures flat <- !!!
Market opens for the little people, S&P500 INDEX GOES DOWN THEN UP, AU GOES STRAIGHT UP <- w...t...f...
I called that JPM would manipulate their earnings to create a unreal happy number, but I did NOT call the market surrounding it.

It may look like I had a good day, but that's just because I closed my UJ long.
https://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory?id=11855360
Today was actually super brutal. If I continue at this rate I'll be back to 0% in no time and 100% will be completely out of the question.

Pay attention, this is called the 'central bank formation' it's a very important formation:
<a href='https://www.myfxbook.com/files/scwizard/centralabankformation_OA.PNG' target='_blank'><img src='https://www.myfxbook.com/files/scwizard/centralabankformation_OA.PNG'/></a>
I envy the Singapore MCB insiders who you can see front running this.

Oanda employee: 'shit according to our computers we're losing money fast due to the uncertain nature of the 8:30 news events!'
Oanda manager: 'don't worry, I have a plan, here's what it is:
Step 1: Take the money.
Step 2: Run.'
And then he took hold of the cat5 cable and pulled.

I'm actually surprised you can still see whats going on. Oanda has too many problems again. Huge difference in price streams between FXCM UK and Oanda kept me irritated. I'm out, Done for the week (glad I didn't trade the news today!)...
Happy Trading!

It's not so simple. The majority of the profits came from closing my UJ short, so I can't properly call them this week's profits.
The other half of the profits and then some were wiped out today. I don't know how bad today was yet, because OANDA is closed atm, but chances are it was really really really bad.
So yeah, I'm at a loss for this week so you actually did better.

Actually it seems my losses are limited to 5$/7% or something of the sort. Now those are huge losses, but not as bad as I expected.
The reason seems to be the nature of USD/TRY. I thought it was more volatile than AUD/USD, but it actually seems to be much less.
So this marks the second time that pure luck has saved me. First I close my UJ short because I wanted more available margin to trade gold, then 1 day later BoJ intervention. Second is this.
Regardless, tomorrow I'm going to be trading on demo, if I lose a lot of money on demo, then the market has changed, possibly topped, and the next move I try and catch will be a significant daily move.

Here's the details. The question I'm going to want to answer tomorrow is 'is everything under control.'
If the answer is 'no' then I'm going to short AUD/JPY with a large lot size, a target of more than 300 pips and a stop loss of margin call.
The thesis:
1. The wheels are coming off the bus.
2. The Bank of Japan will not move until after the wheels finish coming off the bus.

New account. This one is for screwing around in demo and robot trading.
If I'm successful beyond my wildest imagination I will try a similar strategy in a real fxopen account.

I will not close this AJ short before Thanksgiving.
Also trading against OANDA retail seems to be a sound strategy: https://fxtrade.oanda.com/analysis/open-position-ratios

HELL YEAH
https://fxtrade.oanda.com/shared/documents/pdf/account/risk_disclosure.pdf
51% of OANDA clients were profitable. Clearly it's because OANDA's sophisticated clientele and platform allow OANDA clients to on the whole beat the market.
If 80% of their clients are long UJ though, still a good time to short imo.
