From my personal experience, A demo account is an accurate representation of a live account, If a Pro trader or A well designed EA run profitably on a Demo account then it's 99.99 percent certain these resulted can be replicated in a Live account.

There's a conundrum that surrounds the financial markets being that if you participate, the market players will always catch you out. In the Forex market this is also the case IF you do not know enough about how it all works and how the big fish make the bucks. However, I am not a big fan of demo accounts because the fear of losing money is removed and therefore you cannot train yourself to let go of that fear. I would usually backtest an EA or strategy first, demo trade for a maximum of two months and then put it to the real market with tiny risk (starting off with micro lots). I think participation in the market is essential to your learning process. Demo accounts are better than doing nothing but the transition from demo to live is too large.

I think demo accounts are fairly close to real account unless the strategy being used is spread sensitive. Demo accounts have the advantage of never having requotes from the broker whereas real accounts do.
You win some, you lose some.

@FXRX spread sensitivity does come into play in a real account, but if you get a re quote it's better to forfeit that trade that taking the added risk.

It's true, you mentioned 'Pro trader' and ' well designed EA' but somehow, I'm still sceptic about title dilema.

Why ?

Becouse I simple can't explaine this to myselve :

I agree with testing a system on demo and applying it live, I use the demo periodically for that purpose, recently I have been trading only live, works out well. I advise to anyone attempting making money trading, take $100, open an account and turn it into $200 and keep it consistently, 6mos-year, then your ready to take 5k into 10k and so on. Turning 100 into 200 is not easy, nor is the other, but great place to start and find out your real skill level without breaking the bank out of the shoot.

I do not know what data proving equivalence, demo vs live, but it is not so obvious. If the broker shared demo datafeed identical to the live, then of course it is. Such brokers are few. However, my experience is different. Number of ticks, time shifts (which goes hand in hand), a ping to the server, so speed of execution (often demo is much better!). This makes the demo is a different story. Cunning broker as a set (for example, using a virtual dealer) that the demo will demonstrate a sensationally good results, and in fact can not earn. The real figure is four digits after the decimal point, but you can see the fifth Dealer software creates the fifth digit and has many possibilities for this software you dodge out of the money. Even realizing it by the large gaps in ticks.

Every feed is different - unless they are the same.
Obviously every Market Maker has his own feed for his clients because his client base is unique and he requires unique price manipulation to get optimal profits/risk management.
Mostly I follow ECN brokers and for example FinFX and DivisaFx has same feed (liquidity providers).
But I don't know if they have same execution because I have not executed same trades simultaneously on both brokers to verify which booking they are using. But I believe they use different internal booking pools and thus execution (filling) will be different but statistically it can be still 'same'.
Unless they route your orders directly to be filled by their liquidity providers and you get real market execution. Then your mileage will wary depending on markets.
Being Bearish or Bullish Makes No Difference

No matter how well your strategy or EA worked in the past, there is no way of predicting how it will perform in the future. So I will have to disagree with the 99.99 percent success rate. Can you show me in math terminology how you came up with that number?

lol, using your trading method perfected on demo on a live account does not have anything to do with maths.

if your technique is not scalping & your signal good on demo account, then you can use 2 EAs that able to read & retrieve signal between 2 metatrader, this can be done by cache/log analysis results.

TThere is also a difference in order execution on demo account and live account. So the thing is trading live you might face the slippage which is a bit annoying for scalpers. However everything else is quite similar in case you have a good strategy.
