wow man I would need 100x times more deposited to get similar results as you do ...
however I bet with $40K you would not continue being so aggressive ???

what MM rules are you using to keep this account alive on the cutting edge ?

Hi Duzyfx

Everybody has their own risk tolerance levels, I believe in my trades and I can tolerate a bit more on the drawdown sometimes.

At 100X the account size getting the same $ result, I believe the % return would be 100X smaller which would give us about 9% absolute gain per two months+, so about 4% monthly or 24% yearly. Many would still consider that good result.

I've traded a larger account then $40K, but that was before my current style developed. All I can say is that I indeed will decrease the aggressiveness as the account grows but not drastically at $40K its not that much.

MM Rules: know your trade first.

P.S. should there be dot over 'z' in your name?

Regards

Hi Robert,

It's not a criticism but I'm curious to know how u manage your risk, in other words, how you calculate the lot size of each trade?
I find from your trade history that your lots are quite big considering a mini under 500 account, and to me it's quite random, one trade 1 lot, the other 0.5 and for a nzdjpy trade u placed 10 lots. I'd like to know if these particular lot sizes r calculated? or based on your instict or experience of the currency moving range? I'm particularly interested in lot/risk management 'coz i'm also running a mini under 1000 account and it's growing slowly despite a comparitively high success rate. That's why i'm thinking of trading more lots and your account growth rate proves that it's achievable!
I hope if possible you can share some insights on entry exit, risk management, etc with me and that we can exchange ideas and opinions in forex trading here.

Cheers,
Shawn

Shawn

There is a certain size I won't go over when entering initially. But basically if I have clean slate and I feel very strongly about a trade I'll put most of the available lots on it, if I'm not so sure about the trade I'll risk much less or if I see a quick opportunity I'll try it but also at smaller size. The account is growing so the lots will get larger, the initial balance does not matter anymore.
I'm slowly moving up to a higher TF trading so I'll be starting more with small size and building up the position, although I'm sure there will be other trades I'll take besides the main position.

Larger lot sizes are key here to large return if you feel you have good aim I'd recommend using larger lot sizes at least on the trades you're really really sure about.

If I followed standard wisdom on MM the results would probably be also standard/average. Sometimes you have to break away from the herd.

e-mail me if you want to discuss anything further [email protected]

Hi Robert,

I’m very impressed about your systems. I testing many EA’s and I agree with you, it is very hard to make system that will be working well without any help.
I trade toward a 32 EMA, and like you, I’m using RSI. I was starting couple months ago, and I’m still trying to find the best technique to make money.
Is there any way to see your open traders and orders ? It will help me to understand your technique, of course if you don’t mind.

Thanks

Mike

JUST FRIKIN GREAT!!!!!!

I just discovered that my broker(IBFX) does (did) a balance forward on the accounts.
This basically screws up my whole track record thing, geez there is always a fastball coming from somewhere.
My trades from older months are brought forward and treated as a new balance.
Obviously I can't work like that and need to switch to a broker who will not do that to me.
Suffice to say I will not be updating this account anymore and will actually close the account and transfer funds elsewhere. However, as soon as I start trading with new broker I'll post a new link for those interested in following my strategy.

First and formost, those are some impressive results you have there. however their is a flaw to your trading.
I like the fact that you are capable of recognizing a high risk trade hence you open smaller position but your only flaw is that you get out of trades to quickly. You need to learn how to maximize your win to lost ration to atleast a 3 :1.

I would like to go head to head with you for a month.

Love the challenge, once I set up the account I'll gladly compete again, please have one ready as well in few days (Live and fully verified only)

Actually my win to loss ratio is like 9:1
My position sizes may seem small only because I have few different pairs open at a time so overall my position sizing is aggressive and if I feel really good about the trade I will concentrate my lots on that one pair. generally I'm in the range of 10,000 units per $400 in equity in my account and $800 in managed accounts.

You're right, sometimes I get out of trades too quickly but how do you know when too get out on each trade. There is no real answer to that question, everybody needs to find their own balance. A BIRD IN HAND IS WORTH HUNDRED IN THE BUSH.
I still beat beat like 90% of the traders out there.

Good trading man. I also agree about the tolerable risk level to return.

I will be very interested in your future account. I will be posting mine shortly once I figure out why MB Trading accounts don't show up on this site anymore.

Robert,

You are right your ratio is greater than a 3:1. However your average win stands at (21.62 Pips / $25.62) compared to the average loss at (-135.18 Pips / -$27.09). These are the numbers you should focus on working on. Beside its not the 90% of traders that you should be focusing on beating, its that 10% that you must beat. Whisper from the big bird, 90% of traders are gamblers who don't understand the psychology and the art of trading.

I can feel your good intentions here and thank you for participating.

21.62pips/$25.62 maybe correct but keep in mind that my goal is to compound the # of lots used so as the account grows, even if the average # of pips stays at 21.62 the $ average will be getting larger and larger. I used to shoot for larger trades in the 50-100 pips range and many times got out on retraces to around BE which kind of skews statistics lower, I have since decided to shoot for around 20 pips trades which will be better for the bottom line but the average will still be in the 20's. My losses are large but there is very few of them because I try to concentrate on the A+ trades and only let it go when I loose faith in it. Honestly, I'm not trying to beat anybody but myself by getting better consistently.

Will definitely check out the PDF.

I have opened an account and will transfer funds within the next few days, in the meantime I added statistics for one account I manage at my new broker. Because its a managed account all details are private, It can be found under my profile.
