EA companies like sPhantom refer to myfxbook to have a report like:

https://www.myfxbook.com/members/sPhantom/sphantom-auto-trader/585390

        It's seems credible with:

              Track Record Verified
              Trading Privileges Verified

but I see no mention about settings (Risk...) in the myfxbook page:

Home / sPhantom / sPhantom Auto Trader

       If we see elsewhere:

                ForexVerified
https://www.forexverified.com/reports/sphantom/sphantom001.html

they mention:

                using default settings.

and the monthly return is more modest:

                4.41%

How can I hope to duplicate results if I don't know the settings ?

Anyone here uses 30 (or higher) for risk other than Jay? I can imagine it being very nerve-wrecking to watch every trade.

@R3DWiNG how is it possible to put two EAs on the same chart (both sPhantom and the trailingbot) on MT4? I thought that wasn't allowed, or did you open another EURUSD chart and put the trailingbot there?

Thanks!

ProactiveT said: Great account Ken, May I ask what risk factor you use with the 1:888 leverage?
I run pretty aggressive and I don't use the risk level. I trade a fixed lot size at 1 std lot for every 5,000 of capital so I trade 3 std lots on 15K. I do not compound. Profits are transferred out weekly. I am making about a grand a week. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. 4 months and I'll be playing completely with the house's money.

Thanks for the info. So basically with 3 lots at the time (300K) at 1:888 leverage, the money required for the transaction is 337,83$ which you double on a succesfully closed 10 pips transaction. And the stop loss of 250 met could cost you 8445.94$.
I'm I correct? I'm trying to figure out the calculation of leverage, profit per pips and risk combined.

Thanks again for sharing!

Yes I am using the same settings as Sphantom. I am confident in the system so happy with that risk. I am pretty sure that if the team realise trades are going the wrong way they will be closed out quickly.

Personally i wouldn't use any other EA to manage the trades as I am happy with the performance of Phantom.

My only doubt is the broker performance which I am monitoring at the moment. I have been using IBFX but from what I see there are other brokers that will close out faster to gain full profit potential.

I'm currently using risk 30 right now as I only have 2000 on the table and broker offers 30% bonus which gives enough latitude to still have a few dollars left if SL is met but I will lower my risk as I increase the money invested.

Hi there,

Looking really good so far.

A couple of questions to the developer if he'd (or she!) be so kind as to respond, and apologies in advance if these questions have already been asked in this thread, I'm a bit short on time to read it all ;

1) I notice that there are some basket exits, ie more than one trade is closed at once - is there a limit to how many additional trades can be added ? what is the maximum loss that can be taken in one basket ?
2) I notice in the backtest that additional trades laid up in basket are of greater size, what is the (approximate) progression of the lot sizing ?
2) In the backtest from 2012 how many of these trades are included in basket exits ? ie how many time did the system exit its net position ?
3) Could you post a backtest that goes a bit further back then 2012, even just to 2007 ? I'd like to know it survived 2008.

Ive a savvy client base that are interested in good systems which I'd like to present this to and these are the questions I know they'd be asking me.

Thanks.

Cheers, Adam :)

well they still use an EA they don't manually open the trades. they stop the EA or may close trade manually, but still an ea which can be back tested.

Agreed on the trailing stop, it's rather silly to forgo the extra profits if the trend is going your way and strictly set oneself on taking 10 as TP.

@sPhantom would it be possible to let us know why building in a trailing stop isn't in consideration currently?

Yes, the risk is very high. I like to have reward/risk ratio more than 2.

why everybody want to change a working EA?
if they cant provide a higher RR, then its correct, they do back test etc... and identify that trying to get more is too risky and will not provide good results.

currently I never saw an EA with a RR of which works for long periods.
but if somebody has one, please give me the EA name :)

Its so easy to be an armchair quarterback. If sphantoms target is a 10 pip profit, and you want a 10 pip trailing stop, then you need to make a min. 20 pip gain so you are guaranteed your 10 pip profit when the trailing stop kicks in. It's always easy to second guess someone else's work. Your greed is showing. I would rather ramp up the risk on a successful system than to change a system to an new unknown. All its going to take is a couple trades in a row that would have been 10 pip winners, but wind up being big losers because it made 18 pips profit and reversed before the trailing stop kicked in, what then? I wonder who will be the first one in line to bitch about that?

sPhantom works. Take your profits out weekly. Enjoy it until it doesn't.

another point for the TS idea...
because the trade copier will close the trade when the source account close them, if they do the trailing stop but close at pips like today, the copier will close the trades!
no matter the TS is in place or not...

or you also want to disable any close signal from sPhantom.... but they say they'll manually close the trades in case of a problem in the trend. (and before the 200 pips SL...)

:) not easy

I'm quite satisfied with this EA and the traders behind it so far. My only concern is trading so close before or after major news announcements; and that's only happened twice since I've been using it. Bernanke speech once, Draghi speech once. 😄

Quick question :

Does hiding the SL/TP in the EA make variations on the 10pips TP if you have a different spread than the EA is dealing with?

The thing is sphantom closes the trade no matter of what TP is (through a signal). so if u set it higher, it doesnt affect it.

Can somebody please shed some light on why the Drawdown graph is showing it's largest drawdown 23.8% Sept 11 2013 and yet the drawdown under Stats is 64%. Looking in the history of the trades on Sept 11 2013 there is only a minimum drawdown. Isn't this a contradiction?

@Ken It's a simple question directed at sPhantom, not a directive. So unless you're their appointed spokesperson or attorney, it would be better for them to answer it. Also, please stop throwing adjectives like 'greed' around at people (specifically me) you have no dealings with or understand. It belittles what professionalism you may have projected previously.

Since we're on that topic, I am sure it's also not 'greed' that drives your higher propensity for risk, right?

In any case, does anyone know if this EA will work well with other EURUSD EAs, assuming, of course, both are opened on different charts.

Thanks!
