I'm Back!
After watching the behavior of my manual trading strategy, I have designed a fully automated version. This version still uses a Martingale 'averaging down' recovery, but carries a percentage limiter to avoid heavy draw downs. The automated version has been running for 2 days since last Thursday. Prior history consisted of manual trading.
Includes grid style trading and news filter.
Wish me luck!

Back tested all available pairs with broker. Found 9 that had least chance of failing to the dreaded martingale. Forward testing with real money is the true test. Also testing various global stop loss algorithms for better protection. But ANY use of a martingale should be considered HIGH risk.

good luck Scotty! I like your honesty too many users on this site hide the fact that their system is a martingale system. You are honest about yours and that it's high risk gambling strategy. Cheers

Thanks Ozzie Matt!
I've been taken advantage of the 'secret' systems that promote great returns just to have accounts blown. If my money is going to be blown, I want to be the one to do it. 😄
I am intrigued with the Martingale and it's potential. My recovery is a simple martingale. What I am focusing on are the conditions that are most likely to cause a failure when using it and trade when those conditions are LEAST likely to occur.
I am still not 100% convinced that an EA with martingale can be trusted to operate 24 hours a day. But, that is why I am testing and watching and posting my results here.
At this point it is just for fun!

EURGBP trade that was the last one from the fully automated version FINALLY closed. I will not be using the fully automated version anymore. But have been doing well with using the EA as a tool where I choose the entries and it does the rest. Each individual pair now has a limiter of 10% of account balance as Stop Loss. Recovery and risk will be more dynamic that way, plus historically 10% draw down has only happened a couple times, so large gains should not be affected and risk of account blowing completely is limited. We will see how we do this week and how much I can make with this strategy.
