Wow, I did not know the recommendation for risk level are based on 1:400 leverage. Dustin or Ivan, could you please comfirm this and post new recommendation for 1:50 leverage since many traders are from USA. thanks
ss
I don't think they can technically confirm it because I don't think it is in the manual, or specifically stated anywhere. I am deriving my information from 2 events. The first is the amount of money they recommend having based on the pair(s) you are wanting to trade. The second is the broker that Tom has used it on and did all the testing with....and that it is the only broker I have heard them speak of. That is World Pro FX. And they allow 400:1 leverage. So, by taking all the information presented into account, the recommended account equity for the pairs to be traded is based on 400:1 leverage.
Oh yeah....the allowance of hediging would have also been factored into the equity levels.
Make losses, but always come out a winner at the end.

Email from Dustin:
Dusitn, if you or Ivan etc. are monitoring this forum, I still have issues with invalid email/password and unable to authenticate.
I have sent a couple of support emails.
Thanks
I have some great news. Authentication is back up and we are creating a brand new members area that I hope to have up early this week in a limited capacity and at its full capacity by the end of the week. We will also be launching a new program that will benefit all of our current users only. More about that in a week or two.
For now I have used this experience to strengthen our company as well as improve our infrastructure. We have a team of IT consultants that are putting together the ideal infrastructure so that moving forward this will never happen again.
I have been so surprised by the positive reaction from our users and am so thankful for all your support and understanding as over the past few days. Its so awesome to be working with such a great group people.
To Our Success...
Dustin

Ivan or anyone in the know, I shut my platform down and reopened it over the weekend and it is now 'authenticated' but not 'activated' can this be because the markets are closed and there is no activity? Does the EA need to see activity before it will 'activate'? If not, I have a problem.

I would like to thank you Ivan for his support last night.
I had the problem as stated above and he spent a good hour on remote session on VPS resolving it. And he waited online until market opened for me to make sure.
All is working fine now. Thank you for monitoring the forum even when off duty and responding quickly.
However, I feel that the positive result was due entirely to Ivan himself, from the forum monitoring to the work done.
It was not part of a support system, put in place to aid clients.
In fact, my several emails to support are still not answered (perhaps you did not answer them Ivan as the work was done, not sure)
I was left with the feeling that we have an excellent person in Ivan, helpful and knowledgeable, but still lacking a proper support system which we can all rely upon in times like this.
My problem was totally resolved only about 30 minutes before market opened and I could have been left with no EA running until, well... who knows!
Perhaps the support system is in the process of being set up but I can't help feeling that for the sums of money we are paying, (relative to other EAs) a better system should be in place.

With the eur /usd and gbp/usd in DD should i be concerned with this, or is my margin level still looking ok.

@Lorenzo - after our conversation lastnight I've decided to close out ticket ID ZRP-415338 since we've solved the issue
@Chris - your setup is quite good, typically we're recommending to utilize only one pair with this amount, but if you've got proper leverage (and you do ) than second pair might be a good choice. Current DD level is completely acceptable

Just been informed that TRADENCY would NOT be doing a link-up to Tom's EA (= profit agent) with other brokers ANYMORE.
FXCM, FXDD & WPFX link-up still ok.
.................................................................
cc-ed to TRADENCY of the link-up... then tradency informed my broker's rep. to get me to get vendor to liaise on the link-up.
Then vendor replied back that the deal is over. I wonder why...........
7th Nov 2010 till now, zero trading activity on Tom's EA as I took too much time to get the right broker after opening quite a few accounts with different brokers and funding & then withdrawing from one... imagine my frustration.
....sigh.............should i switch to WPFX or use vps ?!?..............

Tradency is still working fine for me, as of this morning. Most recent position opened today at 7:35 am pst. Obviously, we all need to know if all of the sudden it is going to stop opening and closing trades. Anyone know more about this?

Hi Ivan
Thanks for your reply. Before I placed gbp/usd on charts I sent email to support and they said it should be ok, due to sterling account .
The position now is
Balance £2136 equity 1708 Margin 97 Free margiin 1611 margin level 1758% - £428
DD including margin is close to 25%.
One question, will i be ok on margin until the worst case it drops below 100%?
Cheers

Chrissav, what is your max tolerance to DD?
Can you share how many pairs & what level you are trading? max RL?
Check out higher timeframes charts of the pairs you are trading to get an idea if they are heading in the right or wrong direction.
Hope it helps.

OK - question of interest - who, like me is desperately awaiting retracement on the EUR/USD (and for that matter GBP/USD)? All the Euro nay-sayers are eating their hats at the moment as this thing just continues to show resilience. I am hoping, however that we are nearing short or long-term resistence and it's going to drop like a stone!!! 😀
