Be smart and cautious

Glad to see that you pointed out the "too good to be true" bonus situation. I feel like this is usually a tactic to draw in beginners that don't really know what to look for. Meanwhile, you're getting stuck with an (often times) unreputable broker that charges high fees, takes forever to process withdrawals, has nonexistent support, and unrealistic terms surrounding withdrawal of profits made with those bonus funds. Those bonus offers are often a red flag - why would they give money away for free?
How to Avoid Forex Losses In Forex Trading?

New Traders

In forex, losses are just a part of it that will happen from time to time. I think the best thing you can do is take steps to minimize those losses, like placing a SL, for example.
Can I learn forex trading with a demo account?

I think it's important to utilize a variety of different resources - books, video, articles, courses, etc. A demo account is the best hands on tool for new traders, it can definitely help you take that knowledge and learn how to apply it.
Forex Broker Recommendations?

I'm not a fan of fixed spreads because they are often pretty high. I like CedarFX, just to give some specifications - 1:500 leverage, variable spreads, no commission, same-day fee-free withdrawals, 24/7 support, and a wide variety of assets for trading.Worth looking into if you haven't chosen a broker yet.
What do you think is your biggest challenge in forex trading?

I've been trading for a while and do ok but still doubt myself. Some days I feel like I've got it under control, others I worry and have anxiety about every decision. I don't beat myself up over losses the way I did in the beginning though.
What do you think about copy trading?

I think it is risky. You can do your due diligence with research and choose a solid trader to copy, but that doesn't mean that they won't make mistakes. These people are also likely to try to make themselves sound like better traders than they are, so I would look for hard evidence that they are making money and seem to really know what they're doing.
Trading rules which are better broken!

Leverage can really make or break you. A lot of experts stick with around 1:100 leverage, even though they can afford to risk more if they want to. It isn't going to kill their account. I think it's smart not to break that rule - always be careful.
Learning and earning

So many beginners are in a rush. I've seen some that needed money quickly for food or medical reasons and they believe trading will help them get that money quickly when they have little to no knowledge. It just isn't a quick solution - it takes time and effort to get there. Learning should always come first before you even think of making money.
All the successful traders

I think self-discipline is a must when it comes to trading. Without it, you're bound to make big mistakes and I think it would be hard to become successful.

So true! I think a lot of people see it as risky and on the same level as gambling but a lot more data goes into trading - it's completely different.

Scalping

I have a few online friends that are pretty good at scalping but I just don't have the time to dedicate to it right now. I know they're all very picky about which brokers they will use and care a lot about spreads. Might get more into it when my kids are all in school.

Things have been going well but I've been playing it a bit safer lately. Also missed out on trading a lot this month because I got really sick and then it went through my husband and kids one by one, so I was running around to the doctor and just didn't have a lot of time. Trying to get back into the swing of things now.
Looking for the best broker

Hi! I'm also from the US, I did a ton of research on brokers when I started because of that. I remember I almost went with Oanda, but their prices are a bit high. Ultimately went with CedarFX because their costs are slightly lower and they have a 0 commission account, so I felt like it was a better deal in the end.

It's good that you came back to trading even though you had losses, I think persistence is one of the big things that separates eventually successful traders from the quitters. I'm also glad things worked out in the end! Would love to see updates from time to time, it's great to read success stories.

Scalping can be a good method if done correctly but I agree low spreads are a must. I'm more of a day trader though.
