Is demo trading enough before real account?

My suggestion is that, before opening a demo account; think about how it can help.Mindset — treat it as a real account, make journal of your analysis, traits, decision, timeframe of trade, methodology/strategy used.(Review the reuslt, Max Drawdown, Win Rate, R/R, and monthly volatility)Expectation — I think demo account do not simulate actual account in 100%, including market price tier, and slippage.; make good research on your broker and if you can afford, use more than one broker as comparison or hedge purpose.Demo account will not offer you benefit if you are not serious about...

talk to your brokerage to refund your 3300USD, forget about the profit or bonus. If they don't want to deal with you, start your action plan of publicizing the incident in EVERY leading web media such as facebook, twitter, fxstreet, and all investment related platform/blog; be careful and tactful (knowing it is you who missed reading the tiny text of "conditions" in the T&A) to stay only how the tiny text tide you down with ALL the money...etc. etc. File a weekly report of how much you have done and cc the report to: their CEO, Investment Relations VP, financial authority ...

these kinds of broker really try to suck others blood. NEVER OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH market maker, because fundamentally you are gambling with the broker, they don't send your order to the market, if you win, they lose. What kind of investment platform it is?? Why the government allow such loopholes and let many many trader/invester suffer? Try larger broker, research on DMA (direct market access) brokerage, research on user comments. BTW, you have a tiny bit of responsibility as well; why would you accept an "account type" that will inject 7500USD bonus to you while your fund ...

stian, it's a good sharing of your experience. quadruple your risk means you have a 4times stoploss distance? what makes you come up with this decision? without a rational reason, suddenly you 4x your risk means you change your stoploss from near to far? and the change comes after you evaluated the near key levels? I can hardly imagine which part of the equation we can suddenly quadruple without a big shake in the whole strategy....the only one I can think of is the account balance which was pumped up extensively...not because of loss...it's because the strategy has tested with suff...
IS MA CROSS OVER itself an effective trading strategy

flipper58, thanks for your comment...now I've grown to understand EA crosses are only one of the signal, whether as a verification or as a part of the rules for entry or exit. Other interesting question I would like to ask is that: isn't EA are suppose to be written only when it's proven to be effective in the real market? And if the manual trading rules are effective, is the money invested in automating it as a EA justifiable? Not to mention the security of where the EA is stored and executed. Now, I have put EA as the last step of the trading journey....instead, I am trying ...

hello flipper58, you said lots of people can get good result but can't sustain it, is it because the market will mutate every once in a while....so that's why demanding traders to act accordingly....? without firm grip of methodology and flexibility cannot keep up w/ a good positive result? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your comment TF. Use it as a confirmation means you will enter or exit a position based on other signal or condition, and MAcrossover is only one of the confirmation/condition that support your decision. Is it right? But what I see from monthly chart, 9/21 MAcrosses are least frequent, then...weekly chart crosses, then daily, then 4or1 hourly, the shorter the time period the more fluctuation or double cross it happen, but with analysis or combination of all the four time frame MAcrosses, maybe we can come up with a higher probability winning entrance. I quote an example, wheneve...

Good point mlawson71, I have to echo your doubt. As MT4 is more and more accepted by brokers and even retail bankers like Citibank or others...I had a feeling that it may be tackled by very expert IT people; that means, if your EA/Strategy has any storage or safety issue.. it can be tackled or compromised by 3rd party at any of the nodes in between. IT security is a big subject and there are many thing in between. Any professional trader has insight or suggestion, how to protect EA/Strategy that you develop for the MT4/MT5 account?

There are people selling over USD100 for MA cross over alert. Is MA cross over (or multi MA cross over) itself a solid trading methodology, and is it worth the money? When such solution is used in Ninjatrader, will it becomes a scalpEA and will it likely have positive result? But the solution provider bind the account opening with IG in order to use the autotrade function of MA cross; who is IG and if it's a safe place to open an autotrade account?

May I ask, where and how we are guided in choosing the right brokerage or institute in opening fx trading account; that is for normal fx, or MT4, or autotrade/EA trade or scalp etc. Is this something most don't want to share?

hellow growthera, maybe you are right, it may be more cost effective to hire ea programmer to do the job. RIght now, what I am thinking is to hire MQL programmer, which I thought is a common language that I may be able to "knit" them to work together in MT4 or MT5 trading account. Do I have a wrong concept? Do you have further insight how I can move forth? I do not think the project has to be done by same team....

Hello community,Hope you can shine me some light, as to how I can achieve the EA I want:#1 is it a rational thinking that, if I am to outsource EA programming, I can split them into multiple assignment, and connect them together by myself? If answer is no, pls. justify; if answer is yes: (1) what is the the requirement of the programming (for e.g. compliance to so and so and written in what language); (2) how can I connect them together to form a complete EA?#2 is there any readily available EA what public can download? such as those famous EA, such as Elliot Wave or any other popular s...
