Why are you trading?

Beverley, you appear to me to be a part-time trader and a part-time trading educator? What makes you choose to have this second "job"? I am a mentorless trader, and have a skeptical view on this forex education business. If you make a good trader out of someone who then quits his normal job, and live his life (just his life), would you consider that as mission accomplished? What I'm saying is, trading activites don't benefit much to the traders' community (other than the traders themselves and the brokers maybe), so the community loses every time a full-time trader is bor...

Why don't you guys show your accounts (real) here at myfxbook? Well, maybe not every detail, but at least your %gain? Is it because that if you give up your privacy you'll become nervous and your performance will suffer?

Indeed, it is extremely powerful. But I think yoohoo999's calculation to show how powerful it is, is too simplified. That's more reasonable for calculating compounding interest. For trading, it would be less easy don't you think? Do you increase lot size after every profit? Maybe after every profitable month?

If I ever reach the 1M in my life time, my monthly return off that 1M balance would not be anywhere near 30%

OK, I respect your views, but no I don't think I am taking excessive risk. I do manage my risk. We'll see..

And further calculation: without compounding, consistent 30% monthly of my real original capital of £3000, I would require 92.3 years to reach £1M. What would it be like if I do some compounding?

Also quote, Ja wrote: I will be happy with 40% at the end of the year...................... Well well, what do you know, my performance now is 47.27% monthly (according to myfxbook autocalculator) after about 5 weeks. But no, I don't think I'd be a millionaire any time soon, because I don't do much compounding, I like to progressively reduce my risk as my capital grows. I don't know how to calculate my %gain would be after 1year given consistent performance and my compounding usage. I So, I'll wait for myfxbook to tell me. To get an idea, if I don't compound at all and ...

Agreed, this is a nice dream that won't come true to most people. But maybe there are those people with this kind of consistent monthly return, I don't know.

Hi Splexin,I thought I saw you wrote you turned a $50 000 account to $14M in a short period of time, no? I don't know you, but i think that is too much money for an ordinary individual to have. Did it happen that you gave this large pile of cash back to the market, or you just went frenzy spending it for fun and party? Btw, also if you don't mind, this small pile of cash you use to re-start your trading is less than 50K?Happy trading!
$25 to $25k in 10 trades

So your 6th trade (lot size=3.2) failed on your first try, not bad! I guess one would need a system which can get much more than 10 consecutive wins and each win has to be really right, not much room in reverse. So the whole experience, including the final loss trade, was fun? Hey, maybe if you can achieve it in only a few tries (say 10), once you achieved it and you got your $25 000, then you can actually use that and play at least another 1000 times. So, assuming you can win one game every 10 tries, that's 100 x $25 000 = $2 500 000 from using the money from the first won game alone! Or ...

1.21 is pretty far, fair enough. I'm a newbie myself, so I don't know if we can reach that level in approximately a straight line without coming down low enough to save martingale trades. I guess martingale systems can work. But when it does not work, it loses a lot.

I'm sorry, I don't think this protects your capital. I think it will still lose your money, only at a bit slower rate. Still true if you use smaller lot sizes. And I think April was a usual month in forex. How did Gill do last month herself? Or does she not trade her own robot?Happy new month!

Yeah, this is really cool. I wonder how they are able to do it tho. Some kind of robot logs into my metatrader account using investor password and just syncs the history?

I'm sorry that your FFR3 got stopped out. The questions now are: What now? Are you going to continue using the robot on your other real account (FFR1)? Do you believe that you will find the perfect settings for the robot? Maybe try other robots? Will you ever consider manual trading?Regards.

Hi David,Your FFR3 doesn't look so good, in fact pretty scary. Your equity is currently over 60% down from your deposit. You are at the mercy of USD to show some strength against AUD? Could you comment on this please? Cheers, light
