I setup a Tallinex Demo for FXCure 2.0 with X6R10 settings. For some reason Myfxbook will now let me change the name. Here is the link.

@Tradydave
Hi Dave. Just curious re: USD/CAD. I see at this time you are -800pips on a
trade or two on this pair. Is there no Stop-loss programmed into FXCure 2.0?
For experimentation, I would like to see a user-selectable number to plug in
for S/L.
And if possible, for Duration - because you can see, over time, long duration
trades, as a group, are losers usually. Now, that might be too bold of a blanket
statement because these long-duration trades are usually members of a basket
of trades that may have closed net-positive, not sure......

Hi Drew,
I reviewed what you said.
You're talking about the X3R10 account correct ?
Actually I think this demo has been corrupted because of computer crash during holidays and I wasn't there to attend.
I'll dig deeper to be sure.
About this stop loss, yes, I actually inhibited the function.
I can do what you ask.
Do you ask for closing a single order that has been over xxx pips or the whole basket in case one of its order has been over xxx pips ?
Closing upon Basket Duration is possible too.
Cheers,
David

@Tradydave: Hey David. So far so good with my stock 6X+r10 settings; the entries and exits are excellent!
Regarding the lots sizing, would you tell me the Size progression? (In Tom's it was 1X,1X,1X,3X,6X,9X,..etc.)
On the Stop Loss, I think we should be able to dial in a number like '600' (as hard-coded in Tom's EA).
- I expect this year to be pretty choppy, like CHF and CAD so far, and it would be scarey to be the wrong
direction on trades that run for -1000 pips or more.
- Regarding closing orders that triggers the Stop Loss or the entire basket...Tom's, as you know, only closed
the single trade which exceed -600 pips. Your idea of closing the entire basket instead of the single overshot
trade is intriguing. My gut tells me to just close the trades as they exceed the S/L setting. But extra cautious
traders might want the feature of closing the entire basket, cutting loses, then moving on. So, if it doesn't
get too difficult in the code, I would like to see both options.
On the Duration setting, I think there's probably third party software that can manage this, but I 'm thinking
about the complexity of handling the weekends where your time-accounting should be paused for 48 hours.
Perhaps it's easier than to program than I know, but it would a great experimental setting to have and test.
Thanks for your all your efforts on this Dave!

Thanks Dave. So, just to clarify, lot sizing is Equal, like 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X,...or, by
Equal do you mean the Same as Forex Cure 0.98 and Tom's EA: 1X,1X,1X,3X,6X,9X,..etc.
Stop Loss...., yes I can set it....
And for Duration, the setting should be in minutes. Then 2 days would be '2880'.
Last thing, another question, what is the formula to use for lot sizing?
E.g., I had $3000 to start with, Risk = 10 and multiplier is 6, what is the progression
of Lot sizes both internally, then real?

Hi,
I mean as in Cure : 1x 1x 1x 3x 6x 9x etc ...
Stop Loss + Duration : working on it.
Risk formula / lot sizing is :
AccountEquity() * iRiskLevel / 10000000.0
In your case : first lot for 1st virtual order is : 3000 x 10 / 10000000.0 = 0.003
First real order's lot size will be : 0.03
BTW : Volatility is really high now. An account with 6X param in 2013/2014 would barely make 12-13% a month. Have a look at my X6 demo as of today. It closed some baskets.
I think the multiplier should depend on the average volatility level of the latest 3 months (3 is a number that made sense to me but can be different).
Prof Drew : can you try to think about that idea to check if it's good or lousy ... :-)
I'll keep you posted.
Cheers

Damned !
The X6R10 demo stopped out.
I can face any technical and technological challenge BUT this is very discouraging to me.
As Drew said, we now have to go with X9 and over to try to find our sweet (stop-out proof) spot ....
I'll keep you posted for the update on the EA programming.
Cheers,
Dave

Mine is heading there very quickly also. Bummer! Is there a setting that will tell the EA to stop making trades once a certain margin level is reached? If that was selectable we might be able to ride out a downturn. I have noticed that once the cycle starts the EA will keep making trades until the account finally blows up.

So far there's not but that's very easy to do. I could integrate it.
Let's say, you have a deposit of 3000.
You would tell that if Balance reaches 2500 (or even 2990), the EA should stop taking new trades.
What about the need for the EA to open new trades for an existing basket in order to follow its strategy ... and eventually close the basket on profit or break even ?
I don't see a way the basket would be closed if the EA stops taking trades on it ...
What's the opinion of the prof ?
Cheers

Hey Dave. I tried manually setting some T/P's, but they get reset to Zero,
when a new trade for that pair opens.
So,...regarding a Tool that you can use to close trades at a certain
% drawdown, $$ value of profit or loss, or just to de-activate your EAs,
you could try EquityGuard (attached).
You add it to a dummy chart to control ALL charts. If you want to
control particular pairs, I think you can use a Magic number, or even
separate accounts for each such pair.
Use it, love it.

Hi guys,
It's normal that you can't move TPs manually as the EA is in charge of setting TPs and will take control over it at some point.
Regarding a solution, I'd rather go with a coded solution inside the EA.
Now you're welcome to suggesting some way to code it. I.E: when the equity has reached XX% of the initial balance -> Close everything and stop EA. Or anything else you'd think as appropriate.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,
I would be good to have a two step option. If equity reaches XX% of the initial balance stop the EA from taking anymore trades then once equity reaches XX% of the initial balance -> Close everything.
Greg
Drew,
I tried the Equity Guard and I keep getting a 'wrong parameter for Maximal Target' message. I have tried several different settings. Any ideas?

Hi Greg,
I can prevent EA to open new baskets at some point BUT stopping taking new trades to existing basket is lethal in my opinion cause they are likely to never close themselves and lead to account blow-out.
Drew, do you agree with that ?
The good news is : The duration option works well as I let the EA run for 3 days with a 10 minutes max duration trade and they all orders in History has last for +/- 10 mn (average 11mn).
Give me some feedback on your tests please.
Cheers
