I agree that 1-2% to risk is a good rule of thumb.

Time is really important, both in terms of how you manage your own time and what time you trade the markets. It can be difficult to learn but it becomes second nature after a while.

I totally agree, but somehow people still do it. Without learning, one might as well simply be gambling.

It is indeed important to learn how to control your emotions. I don't believe it's possible to reach a state of complete emotionlessness but we can definitely practice and choose not to listen to our feelings.

I think it is correct to say there is high risk involved when using high leverage. But of course, trading is risky to some degree no matter what form of trading you do. Whether you trade with or without leverage, it is possible to trade in a smart way, managing risks well, or in a silly way, losing more than necessary. However, the point of leveraged trading is amplifying your gains, but if you think about it, your losses will be amplified, too. If you don't have experience, experiment in a demo account or cent account first, and avoid doing real leverage trading until you are confident you...

I don't have a concrete personal experience to write about here but there are many things worth checking out when choosing a broker besides them being regulated or not. Such things are their customer service, whether it is easy to make deposits and withdrawals, execution speed, fees.

I also think that no newbie should quit their job and try trading full-time rightaway. There is a lot to learn and practice before you can get consistently profitable, and it also takes capital to be able to start to make a living. As a long-term plan, though, trading instead of working a job you don't love sounds great, good luck with it!

Yes, you're right about that. I'm just quite wary about investing like that :)

Losses do happen, no matter how good your strategy is. The key to profitability and consistency is not avoiding losses but minimizing them as much as possible.

You are very right, having rules and following them is very important in trading. I try not to look at emotion and ego as enemies, though - these things are part of us and they exist for a purpose. We just have to make the choice to disagree with them and move on in a rational way.
Currency Stability

Stability exists on a spectrum. No asset can be defined as "stable" or "unstable". All of them are stable to some degree, and this degree doesn't remain the same over time. Short term fluctuations are indeed just in the last decimals but long-term, changes happen, fundamentals can affect the prices greatly, and at times the market is more volatile than at other times. It helps that forex is a very liquid market.
