Dear all,
The first day I visited this site, I said to myself: God damn it, a serious place for proffesional traders to show their skills! No room for pretenders!
A few months later, many of you may be as tired as me of those threads saying: 'Hey! I can double your money!', or 'Gimme 2k and I'll get 30% for u' :)
It is up to us to maintain a high standard of quality and respect to this business. As a proffesional trader, I encourage all of you guys to isolate those people and give advice to those novel investors that may be trapped in a never ending spiral of loses just because a newcomer pretending to be the discoverer of capital creation says: Yes, I can!
Just 3 tips:
1. Never, EVER, trust anybody who promises even a 1% profit a year. Trading is nothing but probability! You can do it well or do it bad, but a serious trader NEVER promise a penny! THIS IS NOT FIXED-INCOME!!! It's just the OPPOSITE!
2. Never give money DIRECTLY to a money manager! Open an account in a regulated bank or broker, then provide an appropriate frame (e.g. Power Of Attorney) that allows the manager to send orders to market in your name. NOTHING ELSE!
3. Know your manager!
Of course there are lots of things more, but if you take care of these 3 tips, you've certainly reached a point in which you'll be safer and, the most important thing: You'll be able to sleep like a baby.
Have a nice weekend fellows!

I like what you write. Systems/ strategie space turned into clownada.

I also like the name of the thread. It looks like you are familiar with second law of thermodinamics 😉
Unfortunatelly those guys at systems/ strategies are unaware of this law which works in trading as well as in real life.

Dear Chikot,
You are right, I am familiar with thermodynamics laws. In fact, I believe Thermodynamics and markets have much in common, not to mention chaos theory.
These are just side effects of an engineer's mind ;-)
I still believe too much noise is arriving to this site.

It's the same everywhere you go. Makes me laugh loud especially when I read statements like 'holy grail', 'never before revealed secrets', '100% per month guaranteed', and 'strictly limited offer and then this opportunity is gone forever.' This is both amusing and irritating to us, but can be financially devastating to the newcomer. We need to weed out these parasites!

Good talk, however, if someone actually lived in my country and had his legal entity there, I'd be fine with them promising a certain return when it is in a contract hehe....

You got me. I am exposed. How did I ever manage to quadruple my account in less than a month? Can you show me the error of my ways?

For me the problem is people focus too mutch about the money. It would be more engaging if people posted their ideas about forex. How they approach it. maybe some maths that would describe forex, original ideas, there are two school of thoughs from what i know. Fundamentals and Technicals. behind every indicator there is an idea and assumptions. People here only care about the money.
