I'm really pissed today. Everyone is reporting great results and I had about -100 pips because my broker's IT was broken.
I wonder if they will refund me on this, I hope so.

Mind you I had only ONE order where this all mess came in! I noticed that due to reduced max order from 8 to 4 it opened bigger position and possibly it triggered crap order handling... I reduced the order size/risk will see if it improves anything.
I ended up with 5 trades when I reduced my order max to 5. Apparently, anything above that for me is too many. (Interesting!) Trades did open with a bit higher position. My trades ended up modifying then closed with lose. However, I think my allowable slippage was high. Reduced it down. What is your slippage setting?

#1 6/7 trades, +20 pips, but order grouping made pretty big position sizes so profit is considerable
#2 8/11 trades, +136 pips, even better
#2 8/11 trades, +136 pips, even better

@Einstein: I wonder how long go4x.pl will let you continue this way, because they are a market maker which they clearly state on their site and also state there that they can change the spread for each client individually and can also block auto-execution during news and spikes and will assign a personal dealer for your trades to approve them.
Here is what they say:
Major currency trades can be auto-executed for amounts below the auto-execution limit. Auto-executed trades are automatically accepted. For trade sizes over the auto-execute limit and in volatile market conditions, the trade must first be approved by a dealer. This process normally takes just a few seconds.
Note: These are typical auto-execute limits that can change over the day, depending on market conditions and available liquidity.
Our target bid/ask spreads listed are our best possible target spreads used in normal market conditions. In quiet market conditions, the spread may be even narrower but in periods of volatile markets, the spread may be increased and auto-execution disabled. For certain categories of clients, the spreads may in general be wider by up to 2 pips. The spreads applicable to your account will be displayed in your TMS Direct. Please consult TMS Brokers to obtain further information about our spread range and its implications to your account.
I´d say: let´s use it as long as it makes you money, but take care and watch the execution times and requotes / slippage.

As long as microlots are traded.. I got same with Oanda and Alpari - when position sizes reached around one full lot MDP started to get numerous off quotes in response for attempts to modify pending orders. Bucket shops will try anything they can to stop your profiting. They aren't in a business of losing money and trading fast markets be it news trading or fading like MDP will make them lose since they won't be able to offset their dealer inventory against ECN liquidity and hedge the risk. Same time it works more less good with an ECN broker, sometimes I get off quotes but mostly it is ok. And lot sizes are pretty significant.

Fibo123: what are the execution times for Thinkforex these days ? And do You use their VPS - I've noticed that they changed something, and the response time from their VPS to their server is now around 2ms (was: 20ms)
crashev,
Sorry for the late answer. Yes, I have their VPS, but I use it only for demo, because they are restarting it in working days all the time. The execution times went up so much - from 2s to about 5.
I don't know what changes they made, but in their 'go green' letter they said conditions were improved and network upgraded, but I cannot see any of it...
Actually they added more live servers, but this did not improved execution times for me.

I posted this note on a different blog and thought Id drop it in here because of the time it took to write it out.
Perhaps someone can use this info also.
Good after noon. Birt was answering back to some one and mentioned that its hard to optimize my Private internet server. I have and theres many ways to do it. I wont go into the details except that my brother works for a big IT company in the midwest and they do dozens of server setups a day and all the guys have home servers also and I tapped into this information for help. Its a game to them to get the best tweeks. New updates come out weekly for changes to servers. I dont do weekly upgrades, I just took the best they had and tested and retested on many types server configurations with my Broker. Then on the VPS side which is set up with my choice of windows and thats 2003. There are also so many tweeks for window 2003 server software that I cant really go into it. Heres a few you can look up if you want for your own optimization. these 3 listed are free. TCP optimizer 3.0.8, Capsa network analyser 7.2.1, NTP server 1.0.001 and many more. Some may confict and others will give you a faster trade time. I have a group of files that I run on the server and another group for the windows 2003 VPS. They allow you to tweek. Then theres a few MT4 programs thats easy to drop into the platform to insure that it trades fast and the connect is reconnected if the server is reset and many more options on many MT4 tools web sites. Just tinker like I did and hope for the best. I dont have the holly grail, but Im always trying. I work and try to get the best combination between my private server and broker for the use of MDP EA.
Sincerely

I would try Alpari US to compare their execution time coz withdraw is USD20 only.
