In addition, the country imports manufactured goods (12%), petroleum (11%), chemicals and chemicals-related products (10%), food and livestock (5%). The most important import partners are China (which accounts for 23% of overall imports), the United States (11%), Japan (7%), South Korea (5%), Thailand (5%), and Germany (5%), and Malaysia (4%).
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the AUD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the AUD.
