Denmark Balance of Trade
Since 1988, Denmark has consistently reported trade surpluses, the country is self-sufficient in terms of energy production, producing oil, natural gas, wind, and bioenergy. Machinery, chemicals, and food goods are Denmark's most important exports. The main imports are machinery and equipment, raw materials and semi-manufactures for industry, foodstuffs, and chemicals. The US, the UK, Norway, France, and Russia reported the largest trade surpluses in 2017, while Germany, the Netherlands, China, and Sweden recorded the largest trade deficits.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the DKK while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the DKK.
