The Euro Area is an economic and monetary union comprised of 19 European nations that have embraced the euro as their national currency. It is the world's second-largest economy, and if it were a country, it would be the third most populated in the world, with 341 million people. The GDP's next four most important economies are Germany (29%), France (20%), Italy (15%), and Spain (10%).
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

Eurozone Economic Confidence Eases To 3-Month Low
Eurozone economic confidence weakened unexpectedly in March to a three-month low reflecting lower confidence in services, retail trade and among consumers, survey data from the European Commission revealed Friday. The economic sentiment index registered 95.2 in March, down from 96.3 in February. The score was forecast to rise to 97.0.

German GfK Consumer Sentiment To Rise Marginally
German consumer sentiment is set to rise only marginally heading into April despite a revival in expectations regarding the economy after the new elections, a closely watched survey revealed Friday. The forward-looking consumer climate index rose to -24.5 in April from -24.6 in March, survey jointly published by the market research group GfK and the Nuremberg Institute for Market Decisions showed.

French Consumer Confidence Weakens
French consumer sentiment weakened in March largely due to the deterioration in households' view about future financial situation, monthly survey data from the statistical office INSEE showed on Wednesday. The consumer confidence index fell unexpectedly to 92 in March from 93 in February. The reading was expected to rise to 94.
