Qatar GDP Growth Rate QoQ
In terms of GDP per capita, Qatar is one of the wealthiest countries on the planet. Providing for more than 50% of GDP, 85% of export earnings and 70% of government revenues, Qatar's economy is heavily reliant on oil and gas extraction. In light of the fact that proven oil and gas reserves are only expected to support present production levels for the medium term, the government has been attempting to diversify the economy in order to create a long-term income source that is both sustainable and profitable. This involves investments in the petrochemical industry, the promotion of a business tourism sector, and reforms in the country's banking sector, among other initiatives.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the QAR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the QAR.
