Im 'new' to trading, i have only been studying the markets/graphs etc for 1 1/2 years, and i opened a live account in May,
I am manually trading, and automaticaly trading (TomsEA (risky i know..., the month of May proved this when eur/usd slid, i only got out of that hole with a £300 loss due to heavy hedge bets))
at the end of may i shut down the EA, and stopped all manual trading.
Since then ive wiped the slate clean again and started trading again in the month of July. The EA was taken down from 4 pairs to 1 pair EUR/USD to reduce risk/DD
I also started manual trading at the same time as the EA again, and actually its going ok,

EA made about £100
i made £1 (yes 1 pound!! actually it was £1.04, still way better than a loss tho!!)
August
EA so far £54

this is on a 500:1 with £1000 starting capital.
as you can imagine being a new trader, i welcome advise on setups etc, which is why i thought id pop in just to say thanks.
im all closed out for the weekend now, but still tempted to put in a small sell EUR/USD if it breaks below the 1.2530 resistance, in hope it might wander down to 1.2440, who knows!?

%95 of ECN brokers spreads are not as they advertise.
when slippage added STP/ECN brokers are much more expenise then we think/expect

another trade this week
this time I was lucky
those 2 trades showed that system is dancing on the edge. I should bring through the center a bit according to the MFE MAE data.

difference between Grid/Martingale & Trend Trade.

I have just started posting on my fx book. I see that you are quite a veteran here. I liked the Warren Buffet sayings that you posted. It's very thought provoking.
Besides, I am delighted to see there are more people like me preferring Hybrid trading ( Semi Automated ) I can say with cofidence that it is the best of both worlds.

I was thinking today what kind of Hedge Fund uses mql4 coded home made EA s for their funds. especially the systems needs high mathamatical calculations and fast & high optimization calculations.🙄

a different approach to statarb.
statistically keep your %DD as low as possible. open 2 bi directional reverse trades . at the end market will come to your favor.

what is statistical arbitrage:
1 - trader look for highly corolated instruments for mean time
2 - then trader aplly basic arbitrage rules to instruments. wait for a gap and then hope it closes back.
does this work. yes. when correctly coded which is very complicated it works.

I had coded the EA that makes 600.000 $ to 26billion $ in 2 days of work.

I made 2 posts at the EA thread explaining the what I did and how I did and what is wrong about the EA and those posts has been removed form the thread.
if MYFXBOOK will not replace those posts back
