Newbie here – looking for some tips and advice
Hey everyone!I'm super new to forex trading and still trying to wrap my head around everything 😂 Right now I'm mostly learning from YouTube and playing around with a demo account.
Got a few questions and would really appreciate any tips:– How did you get started when you were new?– Is it better to focus on technical analysis or fundamental at the beginning?– How do you know when you’re ready to switch from demo to real trading?– Any good resources (books, channels, websites) you’d recommend for a total beginner?
Also... how do you guys stay calm and not overtrade? 😅
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to learning from you all 🙏
Hey there! 😊
Welcome to the world of Forex! I remember being exactly where you are — watching tons of YouTube videos, demo trading like crazy, and wondering how people stayed so calm 😅
As a newbie, focus on learning the basics and practicing with a demo account. It takes time, but it’s worth it! Start with technical analysis. It’s easier to understand at first and helps you get used to reading charts.
Once you’re consistent on demo and sticking to a plan, try real trading with a small amount. To avoid overtrading, set limits and take breaks — the market will always be there!
Trading seems easy—just deposit some money, click a few buttons to open and close positions.
That ease of entry is exactly why trading becomes one of the most common losing careers. To avoid falling into that category, you must do something different.
Start by learning the fundamentals, then dive into live trading as soon as possible. Don’t waste too much time stuck in theoretical "paper trading." Trading is 1% knowledge and 99% execution.
Having a mentor is critical. You'll soon realize that the money you spend on a good mentor is worth every dollar. But remember—your mentor can’t make you successful. You need to apply what you learn. Don’t just “know” it, do it.
Beginners often imagine that success comes from a magic indicator, a perfect strategy, or a trading bot that makes money while you sleep. That’s completely wrong.
Yes, a strategy is important—but the real game is in execution. You have to execute like a true professional: solidly, consistently, and with discipline.
No doubt, you will take hits in trading.
Resilience is what separates winners from the rest. And again—it all comes down to execution.
Is there a bot that can make all this easy and risk-free? I don’t think so.I believe in trading manually, supported by indicators or EAs as assistants—not replacements.
So don’t stay stuck in the books for too long. Just start.
Take action, take the hits, reflect, adjust, and repeat. If you can, invite a mentor to guide you through it.Eventually, you'll become independent—a confident and capable trading warrior.
