This may be an oversight.

When a custom analysis is done of a specific period, ideally the stats (in the STATS tab) should show the respective gains (abs & cmltv) for the said period. The equity and the balance should also ideally be as at the end date of the said custom analysis.

Currently what it shows are the gains, balance and equity as at the current date and not as at the end date of the applied custom analysis.

I can still obtain the said details from the chart of the custom analysis and then calculate equity as at the end date and the gains in the said period but having to do that manually defeats the purpose of the existing custom analysis feature.

It must also be noted that the gain for a specific custom period is calculated and shown correctly ONLY if the start date of the analysis is AFTER the start date of the account itself. If custom analysis is applied from the start date of the account up to a date before the current date, it doesn't work this way. That's why I thought perhaps this is either an oversight or a bug.

The 'Advanced Stats' section fetches the correct data. However it would also be nice to be able to see what the open trades were as at the end date of the custom analysis that is applied.

Thank you.

Hmmm... When you apply the custom date filter, it will update the Stats on the left. Let's say you had 5.5 % gain in May 2010. If you enter 1st May 2010 as start date, and 1st June 2010 as end date, you get exactly 5.5% on the Stats page. I'd say that's correct then.

If the analysis start date is before the start date of the account ... again if I put in 2005 as start date, I get the same figures as with the real account start date which is 2008.

Do you still have this problem, maybe it was just an issue with the browser, if you try Refresh, will you get the proper numbers now? Is the problem about shown %%%s in general, or is it the equity % only? Cos I reckon the gain figures are right as rain, no matter how I'm twisting those dates.

Hi Speki,

Once you click on 'custom analysis' DON'T change the start date. By default it picks up the start date of the account.

Change only the end date to something earlier than the current date.

You'll see that it shows the cmltv.gain as at the 'current' date and it doesn't change no matter what end-date you use. I just noticed that the abs.gain seems to change.... so that should be correct.

(Being able to see the balance, equity and open trades related to the custom analysis applied would be ideal.)

Indeed Ranesh. The abs. gain changes but the Gain % does not. The end date doesn't seem to be of any use. Now I see your point!

Yup... I hope it'll also be possible for the balance, equity and open trades to be shown for the custom period that is being analyzed.

Thx for the vote. 😉

Dear MFB Team,

Thanks for fixing it.

(Being able to see the balance, equity and open trades related to the custom analysis applied would be ideal.) => Would this be possible ? At least the balance and equity would be nice for now. 😄

Thanks again.
