Hi,
Been trading for quite awhile now. Recently switched to ctrader instead of metatrader. Pretty happy with the switch. I will try to document the rationale behind my trades. Here to learn, here to help. Thanks.

Saw the crash coming for weeks but I was not in position to make a play on it. Was tempted to place a short on GBP/JPY on 194.5 last week. It was unfortunate that I didn't. Oh well, life goes on and the market has proven to me once again just how broken it is when liquidity can drys up like this which lead to these kind of reaction.

Problem I have with myfxbook analytics so far.
-I experience 1.426k% equity growth on 31st Aug, 2015. This is clearly a mistake.
-worst, best trade (pip), expectancy are extremely misleading. I use 0.01 lot to gauge market action on usd/sek with 250pips stop loss for example. That means I am throwing ~2.5USD out there. However myfxbook will see this as my worst trade. Also this immediately makes my expectancy in pips -250pips which is like 25 pips on major pairs like EURUSD.

definitely something going wrong with your numbers. your Sharpe ratio is negative.....i wonder if its because you are using C Trader instead of MT4
I think that's probably because I withdraw the whole fund out before friday close and deposit back on Monday to avoid my limit order executing for weekend. (using fxpro vault). Thus you see my abs gain is much lower since they now my total deposit size is much bigger because of my winnings are counted as deposit now. So the percentage of winning over the deposit is smaller. Myfxbook probably used the abs gain as the return to calculate the sharpe ratio. This is the reason I can think of, maybe myfxbook staff can come and clarify.
Anyhow, in future I might consider removing all private info except account number on this account public if more interests are generated.

cool. if you can get your sharpe ratio above 0.6 then i'll be your first customer :)
Great! Thanks for the support. I will kindly ask myfxbook staff to clarify on my sharpe ratio when I join autotrade.
It's a good practice to have no trades hold during weekend. And I did have a few limit orders executed and closed (in losses of course) just minutes before the friday close because of spreads widen like insane during the last minutes. And I am lazy to remove the limit orders, so I just use the fxpro vault function, which is a nice feature.

yeah, the ATR for even the majors has blown out a lot lately so most brokers make ridiculous markets just before the Friday close. You may want to consider putting a time stamp on your limit orders e.g. good till 2 hours before close.

Hey, thanks for your insight. Yea I know about the expiration on limit orders but for me, I don't want to put back those orders on Monday again. ;) So easier just empty my account after done trading on Friday so I can go relax and enjoy the weekend.
