I have improved this EA so drawdown won't be so large.
It's much more relaxing strategy this way.
Improved in what way?

my FXCharger on AUDUSD did not crash... it was close, but the EA worked well and turned the loss into a win. Maybe you are using the wrong broker or the wrong type of account. If you are using a STP broker your wins are the losses of your broker and your losses are the broker's wins, so it's better using an ECN broker... Oh... and the ECN broker does not have that high spread which makes it possible to reach the SL price in situations a STP broker would not reach that price. Therefor you pay a small commission for each trade with an ECN broker, but can be sure that there is no collision of interests between you and your broker.

Btw: You should also be attentive in situations your EA deals with big open positions... mostly there is a chance to close those positions manually (with a small win) before the chart turns the other way around and crashes your account... leaving the market is also a part of risk management. :)
This year I did this two times, because it went too risky for my liking... I got out of the market and made less win, but in my opinion it was the only right way.

Well, you have learned a lot with this account crash, but if you quit now you can't use that knowledge anymore. So stand up and try again and you will do better now. :)

A final question: How much of the account was gone? only 25% or did you turn off the drawdown control of the EA and blew the account? :/

Sounds a bit strange to me that you as the maker cannot explain why the trades are all opened at exactly the same time. It's not that market conditions are exactly the same at these times.

Hi,
Now I understand your question. The trades open at the same time because of logic. Now I understand that you are interested in WHY we decided to open exactly at this time. Well, because our statistics (data) said, that it is the best time (moment) to open trades with our logic. I can't say you all the steps and principals of analyzing the market that we use in developing of the software - it's our intellectual property.
But as you can see it works on our live account for almost 4 years.

Thank you for being that honest. I appreciate that you are a bit transparent and of course machines can't predict future charts and can't completely exclude drawdowns. That's how trading works. There will never be a perfect EA, but it's only necessary that it makes more profit than losses. And i think the FxCharger works pretty good so far (at least at EURUSD and AUDUSD)... :)

Can I ask you how much risk you used? I use a risk of 25% (as written in your manual) and it did not crash.

Hello Acronotus,
Thanks for your clear understanding of how actually true trading looks like at Forex.
At our EURUSD account, we use a 16% risk at the moment, because it grew really much and we wish to make it safer.
The AUDUSD account traded with all the deposit that is why it was crashed. Most the clients want to see big profitability, that is why we have used such risks at the AUDUSD account. Сonsidering that we selling the software, for good sales we need to resort to such risks. Unfortunately, a really low part of clients looking for safe trading results, most traders want to see really big profitability.

So if I understand you correctly, you believe that 16% is a good 'safe' risk to apply to EURUSD, correct?
The question asked however was what you believed a 'safe' risk setting would be for the AUDUSD account. Would you mind giving us your opinion please?
It's amazing what you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit.

It has nothing with the risk as you think it is.
It is all about the profit you want to achieve in each sequence of losing trades.
In other words it is all about your greed.
I made some changes with this great system and I've never got such drawdown as the owner had.

I have no greed, I want safety.
Would you be so kind as to share your findings, currently I an at 18% on the EURUSD, doing OK for now, but have not as yet tried the AUDUSD pair as I have not yet been comfortable with the things I have read.

Hello Wayne,
I can't say that 16% is safe, and 25% not safe. It's all about the amount of your deposit and what part of deposit you willingness to lose. For account 1M and bigger, 16% risk could to be too big, for account 5K - 16% risk could be too low and you want to get more profit. It's all about your own preference. But anyway my own opinion, that if you want to trade for a long time, at least the risks must not exceed one-third of the deposit. It will give you possibilities to recover the loss when it will occur with you - this situation surely becomes with you someday and no matter what the system do you use. But I believe in FXCharger that it is one of the best and verified systems 😄

Thanks for the reply.
So it is safe to assume that the larger the balance on the account gets, the smaller the risk should be set at for this EA?
Apologies for all the questions, but I am very happy with a return of around 2.5% a week and that is what I am trying to accomplish?
Currently my balance is £3,540 so is it safe for me to assume that 20% would be a good option for me at this stage?
At what sort of values along the way to 1Mil would you suggest reducing the risk if 16% is considered too risky for 1Mil?
Thanks in advance.
Wayne

I would say no EA is always absolutely safe... you can just minimize your risk, what you've already done... You need to find a compromize between how much you wanna risk and how much you wanna earn... the lower the risk, the less you will earn. But I am of the opinion that 20% is a good choice for people who want to trade more safely (if traded on both pairs, EURUSD and AUDUSD)...

My account is worth 2579 GLD (gold units), thats something like 3013 GBP and I trade with 25%... I calculate with a drawdown sooner or later, but it's the right risk which fits best to myself. But I also know that I always took higher risks in my life than the others... I guess nobody can say which risk will fit best for you. You must decide that because you know yourself best and you must choose what you feel comfortable with. I hope I could help you a bit. :)
