I pretty much use AI to generate strategies; the success of it depends on whose hands it is in. There's a myriad amount of features that need to be considered when going down this path that require a human input, you can't simply tell AI to generate strategies on "x" symbol. There's a significant learning curve to getting it right.

Is it your own system? I'm happy to let my systems run 24/7 (except for major news events) because of the back-end testing. Definitely needs some watching with volatile news triggers though.

Spreads can be both variable or static when markets are open, it just depends on the type of broker and the instrument being traded. Lot size entered with a trade entry in general shouldnt effect the spread. Spread is only a bid/ask price differential + additional broker spread widening as brokers generally get commission from this if the account isn't ECN-style. As an analogy it's like a house auction; the vendor wants to sell it for $1m, and a buyer wants to offer 900k. The spread here = 100k. If the real estate agent (broker) charges a fee on top of 50k, then the spread migh...

Sortino ratio is your friend here. There are software packages where you can appropriately model this, and adjust each system's risk to meet your target thresholds.

As per the above, check spreads. XAUDEUR will have wider spreads on a % ATR basis compared to say XAUUSD. To view the spread, on a desktop MT4 version, right click your chart, go to properties --> options --> View bid & ask prices. You'll see the spread in real time when the markets are back open.

You'll have to check the legalities of this in you and your partner's country. In many countries, this has to be done under a financial services licence.

100%, I'd never look back. The free time also allows for further system development, research, client onboarding etc. Still requires monitoring during volatile news events though.

The vast majority of martingale/grid grid systems, or variations of are destined to blow up accounts (or result in unrecoverable drawdown). New traders may not be aware of these gambling methods, which require a near infinite source of funds to pull off. How to spot a martingale/grid system1) Short account life.2) Unrealistic equity curves that only ever go up (unless they blow up!). 3) Equity will have significant areas of drawdown if the account hasn't blown up. 4) Increasing position sizes as the account gets further into drawdown. Be wary of these systems, they look great until they a...

Rule 6 is particularly important, "Diversify Your Portfolio", as demonstrated by Ray Dalio's statistical breakdown of correlation vs drawdown expectation in his holy grail principals. Ray Dalio's "Holy Grail" principal should form the foundation behind any trading portfolio. A portfolio of diverse, high performing, robust trading systems with low correlation is the key to long term success. The ideal scenario includes 15 robust systems that have sub <0.1 correlation to reach the most efficient point in the drawdown curve.

Pursuing automation, if possible, will also eliminate the vast majority of "psychological" hurdles that people will experience during trading.
