East Timor Inflation Rate YoY
The inflation rate in East Timor measures a broad rise or reduction in the prices that consumers pay for a typical basket of products over time. Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages is the most important category in the Timor-Leste CPI (64% of total weight), of which Rice (17%), Vegetables (15%), and Meat (8%). Other significant categories are Transportation (6%), Clothing and Footwear (6%), Housing (6%), Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (5%), and Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance (4%). Recreation and culture (3%), Communication (2%), Education (2%), and health (1%) are also included in the index.

U.S. Pending Home Sales Rebound More Than Expected In February
Pending home sales in the U.S. saw a significant rebound in the month of February, the National Association of Realtors revealed in a report on Thursday. NAR said its pending home sales index surged by 2.0 percent to 72.0 in February after plunging 4.6 percent to an all-time low of 70.6 in January. Economists had expected pending home sales to jump by 1.5 percent.

U.S. Economy Grows Slightly Faster Than Previously Estimated In Q4
The U.S. economy grew by slightly more than previously estimated in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to revised data released by the Commerce Department on Thursday. The report said gross domestic product surged by 2.4 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the previously reported 2.3 percent jump. Economists had expected the pace of GDP growth to be unrevised.

U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims Edge Down To 224,000
The Labor Department released a report on Thursday showing first-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits edged slightly lower in the week ended March 22nd. The report said initial jobless claims slipped to 224,000, a decrease of 1,000 from the previous week's revised level of 225,000.
