sdsarmad, absolute gain is a simple (profit/deposits)*100.
Cumulative gain on the other hand accumulates over your account's history. If you had one deposit only, the cumulative and the absolute gains would be the same. If you had multiple deposits, then for each deposit term, you need to calculate a yield (same formula as above) and sum it up.
Example:
1. Deposit $1000, profit $500, gain is 50%, balance is now $1500.
2. Deposit another $2000, profit $500, yield is (500/3500)*100 = 14.2%.
Cumulative yield is 50+14.2 = 64.2% and absolute yield is 1000/3000=33.3%.
Let us know if it's still unclear.

I have a question - I deposited only once, and yet:
Gain: +95.83%
Abs. Gain: +78.83%
So, the explanation given to sdsarmad is not entirely correct.
I don't understand yet how this number is achieved, although I used the formula written here.

Remember there 2 number you have to pay attention : Gain & Abs. Gain .
In normal condition this 2 number must be the same (The closer 2 number the more accurate about the gain ) .
The 2 number would be different if :
- The trader withdraw the fund .
- The trader keep deposit the fund in order to lower the Drowdown . (DD ) .
The first case if the trader withdraw fund is good and healthy .
The second case is bad bad bad for follower .For trader him self may be ok if he has fund to put more and more every time he has big DD .For follower if you dont have money to add in your account than you will be wipe out .
Imagine At first trader had $10 k than he has big DD against him . let say 50% DD , than he deposit $10 k so the DD will become 25% ... and so on to void big DD or account wipe out .And of course the Gain & Abs. Gain will be different over time .

Thank you vinabao,
Still this is not the case for me. I withdrew money but did not deposit more than the first amount.
Still I would like to know how is the Gain calculated.

as long as you deposit more than one time or withdraw the fund than the Gain & Abs. Gain will be different .
-Gain is the percentage gain base on first deposit .
-amp gain is the net gain ( The most correct one if you don't withdraw ) .
When you look at any account look at Gain & Abs. Gain .if you see 2 number different too much than you have to look at the withdraw .If you don't see the withdraw or the withdraw not too much than ONLY look at Abs. Gain (this is the most correct number ) . That is the absolutely gain ,means the real gain base on the total amount invest .

Could somebody explain me how is possible to have the following data with no withdrawals and some deposit done:
Gain 54,16%
Abs gain: 23,91%
Balance 27999
equity (93.65%) 26220
Profit 5403
Deposits 26075
How can the profit be 5403 if the difference between balance and deposits is 1924.57?
How can the abs gain be 23.91% when I if I divide profit/deposits*100 the result is 7,38%?
What am I doing wrong here?

Are there any bonus credit in the account. Myfx book does not account credit of bonuses as balance so some figures get distorted.
Imagine I have account with 10$ bbonus credit and 5$ of real monye, Total 15$ of Balance If I profit 5$ the Myfxbook shows 100% gain in relation to REal credit only. Strange. This produces this kind of strange figures.

For all who dont understand abs. gain & Gain
abs.gain = Profit / Deposit!
10k account
1k Profit
1000/10000= 10% abs.gain (gain1)
---------------------------------
Gain:
11k account
2,2k Profit
20% (gain2)
Gain = 10% & Gain2= 20% = 30% Gain
abs.gain = Profit / Deposit!
10k account
1k Profit
1000/10000= 10% abs.gain (gain1)
---------------------------------
Gain:
11k account
2,2k Profit
20% (gain2)
Gain = 10% & Gain2= 20% = 30% Gain

A small example:
- You deposit $10 (balance is now $10)
- You lose -$5 which is -50% (balance is now $5)
- You deposit another 95 (balance is now $100)
- You profit $6 which is 6% (balance is now $106)
Total gain is ((-5/10+1)(6/100+1)-1)*100=((0.5*1.06)-1)*100= -47%
- You deposit $10 (balance is now $10)
