So how many of you are entering this contest?

It was a bit awkward but after much though I guess it's a win win win situation.

I mean fxdd is footing out the prize money but the winner can't cash his/her winning unless he/she trades about 100 standard lots in order to be eligible for the prize.

This first thing that came out of my mind was 'Casino bonus' 😀 One need to bet a certain amount of times before they can withdraw their bonus.

Anyway... like I say... FXDD is footing out the prize money. So not only must the contestant TRY to win, but the contestant must also TRY to make the 100 stardard lot criteria before they can actually consider themselves a winner.

Mighty interesting... Long road ahead to the prize money... 😀

Whatever it is, I'm going to try my 'luck' hehe 😎

Doesn't work for me.

Have to put down a good few K to be able to claim your prize. Bit gold plated hand-cuffy....

I understand their perspective, but surely we can just pool the bucks or something. Entry is $250 winner keeps it all. Like in the old days, when cowboys smoked and you were only as good as your last hand or a better shot than the other guy if his hand was better...

Far be it for me to suggest that brokers don't operate with total integrity but it seems to me that over 100 standard lots FXDD could easily claw back $2000 from you.

whats the 'grand prize' again?.... whatever it is, FXDD would have made 500 times that on trading volume before giving the crumbs to the dogs!!🙄

Guys, a quick update - after reading your posts, we've contacted FXDD. They were quick to react, and the requirement was changed to mini lots instead of standard lots.

Expecting to see all of you in the contest! 😄

It would be nice to at least get a list of user names that are in the running on the contest, just to gauge how much competition there is. I for one am excited about the competition, nothing to loose!

im in however it says nothing about leverage settings, or auto or manual i think there should be two seperate catagories for auto and manual for one auto can trade 24/5 and manual cant we have to sleep sometime. was mearly a question cause i see nothing in the rules for each of these.

Toying with the idea of entering. It's not like I'm looking for more things to do, and I hate demo accounts, but it could be fun... I guess I would want to know too about:

1. Hedging allowed?
2. Leverage allowed?
3. Any MM restrictions?
4. Can winning funds stay offshore of US account?
5. If the start balance is only $1k, what's the minimum allowed trade?

These things might be in the fine print somewhere already. Frankly I haven't had time to look for the answers...

t.

ps - I'm impressed that FXDD responded to the 100 standard lots complaint and made it 1/10th as restrictive. That shows they are listening at least...

Guys, to answer your questions:

1. Hedging is indeed allowed (checked in the FXDD Malta MetaTrader 4).
2. Leverage is unlimited.
3. No MM restrictions.
4. No manual/automatic trading restrictions.
5. Prizes transferable to charities - once you withdraw the prize money, you can do whatever you want 😄

In general, there are no restrictions as we wanted to open the contest for everyone.
You can trade manually or even use your best EA without giving away your EA. Basically, anything goes 😄

Spoilsports!
I'd like to raise the question of what is and isn't permissible. Are we really saying from an EA perspective that anything goes?
Are we also saying that basically as long as the account doesn't blow the highest equity gain wins?

to staff - thanks for the prompt reply. very fast indeed.
i already joined the contest.
follow query on the prize, re transferable to charities. i understand u need to open an account with fxdd, made at least 100 trades b4 claiming your prize. is it still transferable to charities if the winner find it impossible (banks documents, tax info number, anti money verification and all and most importantly the required fund) to open an account with them? many thanks.
