Can't get anywhere with this lot. I thought we're out of the range when USD index broke through 78, yet here we sit.....

Yeah I really hate when the market halts like this.

Probably it's waiting for the payrolls in friday - this sure will get the usd out of it's range, hope though it will send it straight down .

Last 10 or so hasn't been worth much. They kind of flap around like a dead fish and that's that. I was looking for some stats the other day to see how much it changed, but sadly that kind of info is hard to come buy. i saw it once and haven't been able to find it again. One of the brokers publish it. No idea which one.

I'm still looking for a table that can give me USD index changes for the last 2 years, month on month, can't find it.

As far as I can tell the average monthly change in USD index was about 4 points for the last 2 years. In June / July it was 1 point. We're having in effect 25% of the normal range...

No wonder my portfolio looks like $%@#$%.....

Looks like you're more fundamental than me.. I don't really care about the news, but more on the their effect on the markets - the more it shakes it, the better.

I think I've seen somewhere the info you're looking for, need to search it up though. I'll try to find it later, when I'll have some spare time.

So how does exactly your portfolio looks like? Would love to take a look.

That be like seeing a fat man naked. You don't want to go there right now....

I don't really do fundamentals, but when my portfolio looks this crap I need to know why.

That's a good point.

I just can't see myself doing technical analysis and fundamental together, it's just too much time consuming.

Unless the dollar gets going I'll spend the rest of August just trying to get back in the green.

The common wisdom is you're supposed to do the fundamentals and then use techs to get entry points in the direction of the trend fundamental trend.

Like when the financial crisis hit the dollar was supposed to see its arse. Yup, I agree with you. Who needs fundamentals....

USD still in a downtrend on daily charts IMO. E/U ran up to Demark weekly hi ... collected lots of shorts. I think they will get squeezed tomorrow after NFP. I just bought some E/U long, tight stop ... will add big if close > 1.445 tomorrow!

The thing I struggle with is unexpected news. This NK stuff throws a wrench into my trading. I need to be disciplined and just close the trades as soon as the news comes out.😐

It's something all traders struggle with and there's little we can do to make it better, unfortunately. We just have to get used to it.
