How do you personally deal with trading-related stress? What is your go-to method?
Also, what is your main motivation source for trading?
I don't take things that seriously.yes I do evaluate my performance
but blindly follow self love affirmations to keep myself motivated
But following blindly would be causing a big problem, won't it? how does it help you feel motivated when you are behaving like a delusional?

When trading stress hits, I take a break, breathe, and refocus. My motivation is financial independence and the freedom it brings, which helps keep me grounded.

Stress can never be removed because money is risked. But you can get used to it with practice
To minimize this stress somehow, I started with small positions where the losses were minor and didn’t cause strong emotions. Gradually, I increased the stakes as my sensitivity to losses decreased, and in this way, my disappointment from losses was always manageable and never shocked me.
This is true to some extent, but if your profits are too small in the long run, the motivation to continue is lost and you may not continue.
The volumes should be proportional to your capital and principled risk management.
Agreed. Small profits can feel discouraging over time if there’s no meaningful growth. Keeping volumes proportional to capital and sticking to solid risk management is key to staying motivated and consistent in the long run. Have you found any specific strategies that help balance motivation and discipline?
I am a trader and MQL programmer and have been working in this field for 10 years.
I am just telling my personal experience
There are several ways:
The hardest way is to control your mind and master risk management when problems arise. This is very difficult.
The second way is to use risk and capital management tools that create alerts and forced stops on your account and performance. You set them before you start trading and in normal mode, not when you trade.
The third way is to convert your strategy or a strong strategy into an Expert Advisor that only executes the strategy without emotion and you just monitor.
Together, we can unlock endless opportunities and achieve your desired results.

If you have set up stop loss and take profit for your trade, it is a good idea to divert your attention. If you are always monitoring the market, you will become very nervous.

Exactly! Taking a step back really helps in resetting the mind. It’s all about coming back with a clearer head and making better decisions instead of rushing into things. It's one of the best ways to stay in control.

Same! I also take a break for a few day and then start out fresh!

Stress and anxiety are natural, but don't let them control your actions. Break tasks into smaller steps, focus on progress, not perfection, and keep your motivation high by celebrating small wins. Stay grounded, take breaks, and keep pushing forward.
In trading, knowledge is power; in practice, patience is key.

Very nicely put I will add. It is always better to break everything into smaller steps and highlight the one that can make the progress.

Got it! I feel there are times when not making profits can frustrate you and then stress & anxiety takes over. It is really hard to get over it. I often choose taking a small break works but what other do you follow in that situation?
