Hi, be an institutional trader, you need to have a wide and deep knowledge about financial market. I trade not only FX but also stocks, indices, ETFs, bonds, commodities, real estate and some derivaties like futures, options, swaps... I sometimes use binary option to hedge my position as well. One more condition, every institutional trader uses someone else money to trade so they must obey the code of conduct. That's why CFA level 3 or equivalent are highly appreciated, not required.

I trade binary option with dukascopy. They dont offer MT4 platform but with their platform, you can use the similar technical tools to Mt4. They offer demo account too.

LMAX is a liquidity provider. They only work with high net worth individual, corporations, hedge funds, bank and broker. Exness chose them as a liquidity provider. My bank chooses them as a liquidity provider as well. LMAX provides interbank spread without commission. The retail forex broker often mark the spread up with some pips. So as a professional trader, I suggest traders should trade with them. Dukascopy is also a very good retail forex broker. You can start trading with as low as 100$.

It depends on how much your initial investment is. In my case, 50k USD, I choose Saxobank with Saxotrader platform because I want to trade stock as well. In other case, if you focus only on FX trading, I suggest you should choose LMAX professional platform.

As an institutional trade, what I care the most when trading is how deep the liquidity of a broker is and how safe my fund is. That's why I decided to trade with Saxobank. They also offer stock and option platform which is suitable for my trading style. I think you should consider Saxobank as a good choice. Good luck !

I'm an institutional trader, so I know how the banks recruit good traders. Here are the criteria they have to fulfill:- 5 years of experience.- Manage an individual account with more than 50k USD.- Profit factor > 1- Maximum drawdown = 10% (The bank has a risk management system to ensure the maximum drawdown criteria is obeyed, they will cancel all the positions when the drawdown reaches 10% level.)- Minimum profit rate = lending interest rate this year.- Have full details about their trading strategy. - CFA level 3.

I'm sorry for making you misunderstand. Minimum deposit is $0. So the thread opener can deposit a very small amount of money to start trading. He can start trading with as low as 1$. Exness offers a cent account, so this guy is gonna have 100 cents to practise trading. In addition, they also offer a very high leverage, up to 1:2000. Absolutely yes, Exness is a reputable broker that allows small traders to trade from as low as 0.01 cent lot (cent account), minimum deposit is 0$. But your friend is just a newbie in this market so there's a very high probability that he will blow his account for several times before gaining success.
