Manual trading indeed might be a good solution for you. You can use an automated system to send you alerts but it might be better to make the actual trade yourself.

If you have created the EA on your own then, only you can fix the error. However, if there is a programmer, they can help you.

Your reasoning is correct, in fact manual trading creates confidence in yourself. And confidence can make a trader successful.
