Euro Area Markit Manufacturing PMI
The Markit Manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index evaluates the performance of the manufacturing sector in the Euro Area and is based on a survey of 3,000 manufacturing businesses. Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, the Republic of Ireland, and Greece all have national data collected. Estimates suggest that these countries account for 90% of all manufacturing activity in the Eurozone. A total of five distinct indexes are used to calculate the Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index, which is weighted according to the following parameters: New Orders (30%), Output (25%), Employment (20%), Supplier's Delivery Times (15%), and Stock of Items Purchased (10%), with the Delivery Times index reversed so that it moves in the same direction as the other indicators. A rating of greater than 50 indicates that the manufacturing sector has expanded in the preceding month, a reading of less than 50 suggests contraction, and a reading of 50 shows no change.

Eurozone Inflation Slows To 2.2% Boosting ECB Rate Cut Speculation
Euro area inflation eased in March largely due to a slowdown in the services costs growth and strengthened the calls for further interest rate cuts from the European Central Bank. Eurozone Manufacturing Downturn Eases
Downturn in the euro area manufacturing slowed in March as output expanded for the first time in two years, signaling a recovery in the sector, final results of the latest purchasing managers' survey by S&P Global showed on Tuesday. The HCOB manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index rose to 48.6 in March from 47.6 in the previous month. The flash score was 48.7.
