Hi Jubz
Well - we are a Swiss based firm (small to medium) (I reside in South Africa - looking to move to Switzerland) trading part of their capital on the fx markets. This is what we do.
The fx prop business is aimed only at attracting high net worth individuals or company's as trading won't work otherwise on a small account - returns won't satisfy such a customer anyway as they are always looking for the miracle traders giving them 50% to 100% per month consistently - which is ridiculous anyways....
We've had steady good earnings for almost 3 years now with average of just more than 3.5% per month.
Max drawdown we target since started trading was 25%..this has not been breached as yet. - the max dradown thus far over this period have been 13,7%.
Trading activity - Very active. Because of risk management (and being more risk aware than most traders I think), the size of lots traded are a very small % of the portfolio risking not more at the very most 10% of capital (never been this high anyway)..My view is that through leverage one does not need to be too greedy and get smashed every now and again.
Target - current target is 2.5% per month - this is our low risk portfolio (this may be adjusted to more riskier clients though)
Risk management - as stated - very aware of risk and as such open lots are a very small amount of capital (this might be adjusted for clients looking for more returns and also more risk) - to my mind the fund has the volatility of a fixed income fund, but with equity like returns - or better in some instances!
Min investment starts at $250k - making the low % returns possible and to also earn something from this. The acc via myfxbook is a $1M acc started last year to showcase such type of trading - want to feel if the market/investors might be interested in something like this..seems the investors/speculants out there are not willing to risk more than say 25k....and our system's trading can't allow such small amounts.
Trading about 8 currency pairs although focus is on the more liquid and bigger pairs.
The detailed trading record of this acc can be checked at https://www.myfxbook.com/portfolio/growthfx/82208
This showcase what has been done over the last year almost...and also has all the details about trade size and amounts etc...
Looking fwd to your positive reply soonest
Best regards
