For TradyDave and anyone else who G.A.F.:
On Feb. 7/14 you said:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Please browse all orders and basket in FXCure_That_Works and focus on Pips Number won in total for a basket.
1) Does everything seems normal to you ?
2) Is it normal that Pips Number won vary a lot from one basket to another and from one pair to another ?
3) This morning that single trade basket closed :
02.03.2014 23:00 02.07.2014 07:45 GBPJPY Buy 0.06 - 167.14 164.91000 167.14200 223.2 130.42 PIPS WON : 223.2
I thought we could only find 60PIPS and 130PIPS in the TEA logics.
What do you think ? Is the EA misplacing the TP's again ?'
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answers:
====>The resulting Pips Total ALWAYS is supposed to equal 30pips x (times) the number of orders in a basket.
So, for example, here is a basket with three 1X orders, one 3X and one 6X, so, 5 total orders in the basket would be a net of 5 x 30 pips gained:
Level/Pair Size Open Close Pips Profit
1X: GBPJPY Sell 0.05 167.42600 169.22500 -179.9 -$89.07
1X: GBPJPY Sell 0.05 168.05900 169.22500 -116.6 -$57.92
1X: GBPJPY Sell 0.05 168.59400 169.22500 -63.1 -$31.60
3X: GBPJPY Sell 0.15 169.07600 169.22500 -14.9 -$23.61
6X: GBPJPY Sell 0.30 170.14900 169.22500 92.4 $269.77
I calculate this as: (-179.9x1) + (-116.6x1) + (-63.1x1) + (-14.9x3) + (92.4x6) = 150.1, which is supposed to be 5 x 30 pips plus a little slippage and round off. Similarly, you would multiply the pips for a 9X by 9 and this would NET 180pips, and so on....
Now Dave, you can imagine there are an infinite combination to get this resulting 150 pips. In your case, you are filtering out all the 1X and 3X orders and so you only see 6X and larger. That's why it's easy to question why the pips associated with your 6X orders vary so much. Your 6X pip-size can really be almost ANY number - But the TOTAL pips arithmatically, ALWAYS follow the rule at the '====>' above.
I hope this puts your mind at rest, Dave.

Hi All,
This is my first post here.
I'm testing two demo accounts since the end of January (multiplier 0 and 1). Both MT4 are on the same VPS and did not restart at any time.
If you want to see the results and follow:

Hey all,
For Crane : although my first demo didn't have them, my IBFX demo had all the GBP trades opened when you mentioned them. Almost all closed today.
For Drew : thank you for the explanation about the mechanism.
As per Guilherme's post : is there any interest to run FXCure with multiplier x0 vs TEA ? Or does that make it plain and simple TEA ?
Cheers,
David

TD: Yes, when you run FX Cure EA against Tom's EA (TEA), you will notice differences in that some of the Sells on TEA do not follow the 1X, 1X, 1X, 3X, 6X, 9X, 12X pattern. I have closed CADJPY trades with 4 or 5 12X trades, in a row!
My programmer, Andri picked that out, and I just witnessed it.
FX Cure seems more level-headed. Mind you, we really haven't had a major market MENTAL swing like JPY November/12 and AUD$ after that. Markets are realtively stable now.
Guilherme has really aggressive settings for the size of his equity, but i am sure it is not sustainable.
Personally, after the new Code re-write and some testing, I'm going in with real $$10,000$$ on RoboForex Cent account. (So, 1M cents!) And 'tune' the lot sizes to present 15%/mo. maximum, for sustainablility. I do not want to be stuck in front of a screen manual trading nor worried about a 85% drawdown.
That's why most of us are here checking out this FX Cure EA right?

Hey dvejny and ahmed124. Welcome! And I hope you will participate after reading below....
The name of the EA is 'FX Cure' and it's EXPERIMENTAL right now. So no one should be using a Real account with it.
You can test it (version 0.94) for $15 by sending a PayPal request to [email protected].
It's based on Tom's EA (which I've called 'TEA' in this community discussion) where there's a lot of info on the Internet.
TEA is a parabolic-progressive Martingale Forex trading system. There are 20 Lot progressions that try home in on a
Take-Profit (viz.: 1X, 1X, 1X, 3X, 6X, 9X, 12X, 15X, 21X, 27X, 33X, 39X, 35X, 55X, 65X, 75X, 85X, 95X, 120X, 140X).
And several trades are combined, as necessary, in a 'basket of trades' where the net total results in a profit when the basket
of 2 or more trades is treated as one single order and closed at the same instant - by definition of a Martingale system.
Anyway, after a couple of years experimenting, I noticed that all the 1X orders, when combined, result in a Negative total
after several thousand trades and so they drag down your profits, AND form about 88% of ALL trades AND keep your
Equity always in a negative balance - thus needlessly increasing your chances of blowing your account.
I thought about how I could use TEA and 'filter out' the 1X trades, and only trade 3X and larger orders. The solution
was a Trade Copier program. The best one is free as far as I am concerned: https://www.mt4i.com/appstore/app.aspx?id=2
And there's nothing wrong with filtering trades that way - You can filter trades out at any level with this program.
But I wanted to have a single program, not a trade copier, and not TEA to rely on. Thus, I had FX Cure created!
So, internally, it stores trades that would have been taken (I call these the 'Virtual Trades') but the user filtered out.
It is very easy to implement and you can set the filtering variable. Right now, there is a problem with losing the virtual trades
when the EA is closed, like over the weekend. And this causes unpredictable negative results. So, it is currently being re-
written to solve this issue. I'm told it should be ready in about a week!
Those that have been testing the current build (v0.94) (and not re-starting the EA!) are experiencing excellent results.
The Code rewrite will allow re-starting the EA and not losing the virtual orders.
All NEW testers will pay $30 for the new Code, (v0.96) but current testers only, $15. I'm only doing this to re-coop some of
my development costs and get valuable input from you-all. Perhaps it will be a commercial product sometime later this year.
Have a great weekend...

Hey Guiherme. You see, Equity is Everything! By filtering out the 1X orders, your Drawdown was much less AND your Equity is almost the same a Balance. Nice Demonstration!
Thanks!

it is interesting to read about this ea,
i still have the toms installer on my pc, v 1.91 if i remember correctly, was the first ea i tried an actually my first venture into forex with promises of riches just ahead haha
well it blew a couple of accounts as it goes,
looks like your making good progress after altering the original to make it safer,
is the offer still there to test for a $15 fee?
Many thanks
Ben

I decided to test an account with multiplyer 0 just to see the difference between the account with multiplyer 1. But I do not intend to use this setup in a real account. Unfortunately I did not created a demo account with multiplyer 3, but I will do it with the next version of FXCure (maybe I will need a better VPS machine configuration).
I know my initial deposit is small, but that is what I intend to use. My broker does not have CENT accounts, so I'll use a standard account (with a little higher spreads, but no commissions).
I will send more USD15 to your Paypal right now.
Glad to have helped.
Have a great weekend.

Yes it is dupapa. But just be forwarned, that this is for Demo only. This is mainly because if the EA or MT4 terminal
is restarted, all the virtual orders are lost - which will cuase havoc on any actual Open orders. In the new version,
this problem will be gone. And it should be available sometime next week, for $30 (or $15 if you get the current, v0.94).
Again, all versions less tha 1.0 are not intended for production until many more months of testing and tweaking thanks
to input from serious users in this community topic.
Hope to see your contributions here!

Crap, I lost my internet causing so badly, I actually had to restart my PC!
Of course this means all virtual data from the EA has been lost with 126 open orders!
---------------------> say goodbye to FX_Cure(1,0) v0.94. No point watching Rome burn down...
Can't wait for new version.....sigh...but moving everything to a VPS this weekend.

1) 100% RIGHT !!! (At least for me)
I m expecting that kind of sustainability and then using the power of compounding to build a wealth and try to afford my life off of the cash flows. (I might be dreaming awaked but I ' m willing to check it out)
2) As per your statement : 'tune' the lot sizes
I m interested to know how you would do that ?
Why cent account with 10k ?
Do you feel the need for a special setting in the EA to achieve lot sizing in order to follow a ROI plan ?
3) I m experiencing a risk 3 mult x6 demo on 10k on 28 pairs. This seems to yield 17% mo with 1,72% ridiculous DD (sustainability to be confirmed). Let say I want to go live with that, Can you think about a way to have the lot size evolving with account growth to maintain ROI level ?
BTW sorry for your 126 orders loss. Was that on one demo or many ?

oh i have no intention to jump both feet in with real cash straight away, demo is key here, especially given the risk inherent with a martingale type strategy, but i like what you are trying to achieve with the x1/x3 orders,
im happy to take part in the testing and will make public on fxbook my demo account
it will be a ibfx mini demo account, an would reside on my VPS, unfortunately it reboots once a week as part of its health regime,
im just about to fly africa for 9 days but soon as im back expect a $30 payment and you can provide whatever version is currently available, definitely looking forward to seeing the changes to make it survive a reboot.

Hi Crane. I see your TEA must be a newer version than my FX Cure is based on.
-glad you didn't blow your account! I haven't ever seen a 39X trade let alone a 33X.
...Must be something in that higher version code. Personally, I wouldn't use Real $$
unless I was filtering out everything less than 9X - I think of it as 5 failures or fake-outs
before and actual trade goes in the right direction - how's that for being unscientific?!

Hi TradyDave (or should I say ChattyDave? ;))
You were asking about 'tuning'. Well, whenever I see 50% per month growth on MyFXBook
I am expecting a BIG correction to take away profits - just has been my experience. You may
luck out in the short term - take the money and run, as it were - but I feel with ALOT of Equity
and slower growth, I'll be able to slept at night - and stay in the game longer or permanently...
So, when the Monthly growth gets to the 50% area, I'll back off on the multiplier, thereby dropping
the Lot size. With a Cent account, one can micromanage this more precisely - if your only choice
is down to MicroLot, you can't go much smaller. But on a Cent account you can deal in 1/10th of
a MicroLot. Get the idea?
I'll draw out some actual numbers next week. And, that account was only a Demo, so, not to worry.
-but I was hoping for a longer forward test.
Speaking of which, I mentioned I'm moving my Forward tests to my VPS platform - which is run by
Mike Wilson at engineered-solutions.us . I believe, it's the finest VPS system and support available.
Not cheap, but he's an honest, hard working and dedicated programmer/engineer (and Forex trader!)
later....

Hi Drew
Yeah sorry I ' m asking a lot of questions. I m often very thorough, especially when all details matter.
About tuning lot size, backing off on multiplier and why cent account help you reach your objective ... Sorry again, I don t get the idea at all ... 😕
I think I lack knowledge about how TEA sizes lot in relation to Balance = how lot size grow when balance grows too.
I m a tough pupil for you prof 😉

Hi, I should have the EA this week. I am told the old one (v0.92 and v0.94) will NOT work with the new major
update of Metatrader 4. -there's an issue with precision error round offs that will cause calculation errors.
- And this is accounted for in the new version which is v0.96
I'm not sure yet what the VPS requirements are. I'll test the new EA on my VPS and get Mike to check/monitor
and see what the load is. Then I'll report back here, and update the Manual.
The FX Cure EA was modeled after version 1.88 of TEA.
