Hi, I have no idea if this is the right place, I am new to this community. I have changed a while ago from a Windows platform to a Mac. I won't trouble you with all the issues of getting MT4 working correctly on a retina display of a MBP. What I am here to ask is if anybody has any experience how to get the updates to MyFXBook.com going again. It hasn't updated since last year and there is a link of some EA that needs to be installed. MT4 is (for me as a non programmer) already very complicated when it's just about adding indicators or things. It uses different data folders and when you have a VM running on a Mac it becomes even more hard. I have tried to manually install the files in the correct/all folders it could possibly be and it's still not working. I am about ready to throw in the towel and leave this whole website. But I thought i should at least post. Perhaps there is somebody else who has experience with this issue and can tell me what to do. At this moment I happy with anything at all to track my trading results.

Hi martin,
You actually don't need to have the EA to update your account on myfxbook.
This is only if your broker is actually listed on the site that you can do the autoupdate feature of this webpage (which will automatically up date your account every 5 minutes to days if you want).
However, for your particular issue, this would seem that there is a communication issue between the EA that you are trying to install and the mt4 platform.
My experience with MT$ is that it can create two seperate folders on the system (one that seemingly looks like the directories that you would put indicators and EA's in, and the other that actual folder that mt4 is using to load/initialize those indicators/EA's.
Where this would be located on a MAC I am unaware of. On Windows the folder is located in the AppData folder under Roaming/MetaQuotes folder. There there will be a GUID for the mt4 application that you are running and the same folder structure as the one you may find in X:/Program Files/Metatrader/....

What you can do is to setup an account on myfxbook that does the autoupdate feature and point it to your broker. All you have to do is select which server you are on.
If it is having trouble, make sure your investor password is correct (or change it on MT4). As well, from time to time, myfxbook has the wrong IP address for the broker and will need to be updated before you can connect to the account through MYFXBook.

Thank you for your help. I do have an account that is pointed to my broker. According to myfxbook.com this is active. I think the investor password, you mean verification. I am unable to do this. Tried it with the walkthrough in the help but to no success. I don't seem to be able to change any password inside MT4. If I want to change my password its on the site of the broker. I do not understand not know how to use the investor password or authorization password. So I have account, but the site cannot access it's date and I have no idea how to fix it.

You can/should be able to change any of the passwords through MT4. You will need the account password in order to change the investor password.
If you have to change the password (should be the password that you used to login to the account to trade). You can follow this tutorial to change the investor password through MT4.
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCwQtwIwAQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DgnETk83KIUU&ei=RIgRVaz9EMz8yQTVsIKICQ&usg=AFQjCNENZXUWjifz9uKukdfB0YihZDZz4w&sig2=EyZ4fBxvXGs-QMQp-kEziA
Once you change the investor password, it may take 15 minutes to 1 hour to propagate through the broker server. Once that has been accomplished you should be able to connect through the myfxbook autoupdate feature (granted that the server information is correct on myfxbook end).

When I do as in tutorial, which is what I did yesterday as well. I hear the same sound as when you try to open a position off the quotes or you move a stoploss / profit target to a level that's not allowed or something. It simply doesn't work for me and I do not know why. Is it cause I run a virtual machine, or is it cause me broker does not support it?

more than likely either the broker is blocking the change to the investor password or the password that you are using to change the investor password is incorrect.

I've finally received the investor password. Still I do not get any syncing going here. Last trades are still December 2014. And it still says my account is not verified. Losing hope and patience with this website really. Any final thoughts or things I could try before accepting this website just doesn't work for me?
