This is a just thread where we can all build castles in the sky..Tell us what you want to achieve through forex..
As they say, money makes the world go round, but I don't want much. In fact, it can just supplement my existing income.
I would just love to be in a position where I can purchase a reliable vehicle (it can even be second hand!) with a tow bar and a caravan, so myself and my wife can travel a bit in our country, return and work a bit and do it over. Perhaps a camper RV will be a better investment.
I am definitely not the type of guy that wants a yacht and ferrari.
Simply said Freedom.
Lying on beach checking if my algos are making money for me.

trade for live, live for trade.
never expecting $100 become $1000 or $10000, but expecting $100 not become $1.
I see nothing wrong with $100 becoming $1000 with time and patience and knowing how to trade well.

Everybody wants to make money. Initially I decided to trade in Forex just to make money. But with the passage of time it becomes my passion. No doubt it's risky but risk is everywhere. You can't miss or avoid an opportunity to earn profit just because it is risky. I always stick to one thing ' hard work pays off ' .There are no shortcuts to success , so if you understand every single aspect of market, practice a lot, gain experience , refine your trading skills nobody can stop you from making money. But above all this, firstly you should have only a realistic expectations, don't expect you started trading and ultimately you will earn profit. Life is all about ups and downs so is the market, so think other way around, prepare for the loss too and invest with intelligence.

I want to, at bare minimum, make what I do with my current job through forex. I would also like to become a strong enough trader to take the skills that I've learned and teach others. To show them that there is more to life than struggling with a job they hate and barely getting by.

I agree with this guy. Only smart & intelligent traders make profits in long term because traders usually lose their own selves while competing with other traders in the market.

Everyone trades just to make money to fulfill their wishes. But money can be earned only and only if you have knowledge. Trading is more of work with intelligence than hard work. Hard work is required while gathering knowledge for different economies. Refine your trading skills and patience by working on Demo account before you switch to Live account. Invest with realistic expectations, you can't be rich in just one day.

I believe the greatest reward for all this hard work will be doing it full time and dropping my day job. I am a chef, and it is rewarding and well paid, but I spend a lot of time at the kitchen and not at home with my children. Of course, I would love more extra cash for fun things like hobbies and music, and enough to save to invest for the kids, but if all I could get was a job I could do from home, I would be most satisfied .
seems you found the desired balance and this is great 😄

It seems we all have very similar dreams. But a dream is just a dream unless you put it in writing and act upon it so it becomes your goal. Remember life starts with a thought and so does success. You can achieve all you can dream of if you set those thoughts in your mind and start the motion. Try it out, write your dreams down along with a plan of action, read it every day, first thing in the morning so they become your main goal. Stay focused and let your goal lead the way, the Universe will do the rest in making it possible, you just have to believe in it and act upon it. With a set of mind like this you will attract whatever you want in no time. Whatever you need to make it possible will come to your encounter to meet you, tools, people, anything that you need in order to achieve it will come to the rescue. No matter if you chose forex as the means to achieve it or any other means, it could be anything else in any other field. And if it comes to you in a different way than the one you've chosen, don't disregard it, just take it the way it's presented to you and do not neglect the opportunity. You'll be amazed with the power of your thoughts, so be careful with what you feed your mind with.
I'm talking from experience if you must know. Visualize, Induce and Act.
Thank you for the good advice! It all makes perfect sense to me 😄

I think it's the main reason people start trading. To win big money in short time...
Those people usually lose their money, unfortunately. Forex trading requires a long learning process before one can even begin making money on a relatively regular basis.

I think the quick buck is the initial thing but then you realise the truth. As you said - it does not come without much learning. 😄
For me, I just want to get to the point when one day I will trade full time.
