Yesterday my FXDD account opened the same position as yours on EURUSD (1.3634) and closed it for a 32 pip gain. But then opened another position when the price went back down to the 1.3635 range while yours didn't. Any ideas why?
I see the same thing between demo accounts and live to demo accounts on same broker.

The EA runs the same code on all Brokers. I found that different results  are from connectivity (latency) to server issues and/or Spread and Stop Level settings by broker.
It only takes 1 pip to make or miss a trade signal.

Demo and Live accounts by their nature will never have identical results. Demo has rigid fixed spreads and Stop Level, while Live account these are always changing. Also, Demo accounts are direct market feeds, while Live accounts are through Broker's Bank to Market. This effects response times and Broker's live account server can refuse order calls during high volume periods. This is the nature of Live account trading.

I have run 2 Live accounts on separate PCs, on same broker, same EA, same settings and had different results.

Hi wackena, just I short question on the concept of this EA. As far as I see it is based on the inverse correlation of EURUSD and USDCHF. I've check the code, but could not see how is the EA related to this correlation. Are using a specific line in the code to link the dynamic of both currencies? Also on the backtesting if you run it on EURUSD, how does it determine the dynamic in USDCHF. Sorry for the silly question, but I am a little bit confused 😉.

Thanks
Steve

What are the back tested results like for Jan 09 - Dec 08, percent return, DD etc. In your opinion is there sustainability in the EA?

Rob

Other question, As EURUSD and USDCHF pretty much mirror each other and your EURUSD results are better than USDCHF, how come you trade both when the same results could be achieved by just trading EURUSD

No correlation in the code. Only uses data from pair EA is loaded on.

Backtests results are posted on Yahoo group in the zip files.

It might be a good idea, but Just never thought about it that deeply. To run 1 pair or both is really trader's choice.

hi Wackena,
Just a learning question,
Is it correct that the ea gets its signal to buy or sell from the EURCHF pair.
If you search in the right places eventually you will get what you want

Hi,

this will be a repeat of the question I just mailed (using the message icon at the top of this page). Sorry for the inconvenience.

Just started using v4a on FXCM standard account with fractional lots to 1 decimal, I get the following error:
2010.03.18 15:14:59 Bogie-HedgeHog-v4a USDCHF,M15: Error opening Sell order (131) invalid trade volume

I changed mm and lot but I still get the same.

Would you have a suggestion?

Many thanks

No, EA only uses data from currency pair it is loaded on.

Error 131 fix in these versions.

Latest versions are:
v3e is same as v2 with fixes to run 5 digit brokers
v3f is same as v3e, but with GMT Offset to run on other brokers with server times

v4e has been optimized for better long term (1 yr) backtest results.
v4f same as v4e, but with GMT Offset to run on other brokers with server times

All versions have been posted on Yahoo group. May take a few days to show up in Yahoo Group archive.

Wackena,

First thank you for the amazing EA. Have a few questions.

Which 3 or 4 would work best for fxdd malta? And do you use IB with fxdd? I'm planning to open up live account and wanted to grab correct version of 3 or 4.

Both should work well on FXDD.

Kind regards.

Bogie-Hedgehog-v4f isn't doing well in the last 24 hours. It keeps buying EUR/USD when the price is dropping...I can see that is the case in your open trades with v2 too. I hope EURUSD will recover soon...

The EA has done this about 3 times from December '09. So far, all came back to make profit. This is always the concern with Martingale type EAs.

Will this EA close losing trades if it is unable to come back to make profit? And what would be the approximate drawdown in that case? Or does it just keep the trades open until your account reaches zero? The default risk level setting on the EA is 10% but it seems you can lose much more than that if things go all wrong.

as i know the risk = 10 mean the EA use 10% of your account balance to calculate for lot size. It does not mean you only lose maximum 10% of your equity each time.
