this Bernanke 'good news' and general exuberant bullish bias is perfect setup for me to add more short positions. anyway. what happened to my mini account was I mistakenly select wrong account type for mini instead of regular account which micro lot are allowed. to my surprise, when large dd got goiing, after I change rl from 3 to 1, it started to trade micro lot. my guess is tomea calculate risk level based on total account balance. even after margin call I have intentionally let it happened, only half of account got taken out. did I say only half of account? oh well........................good lesson with paper money, slow and steady is the key, start with lowest risk level. another note, tomea seems to have some excellent ablility to manage mulple pairs when come to select signals since my another account with $5000 all 6 major pairs allowed with rl 3 still has acceptable dd for the same period of time of my mini account.

Hi, Chrissav
I am only allowed for 1:50 leverage. all my demo results are too. personally, I think you should have no problem with margin call due to 500:1 leverage and your risk level. just don't get greed when you see period of low dd and over 70% win ratio. 8-12% monthly return will keep you safe and sound sleep. ignore dd. just monitor total open position and free margin daily. look my early post on open position and margin call. use excel to do some what if execise, you will feel much more confident about tomea.

The current drawdown isn't particularly worse than the one we had in November, and that was only a few days after I started using the EA on my live account ! At least I now have some of the markets money to play with as well as what was left of mine before I started using TomsEA. This is certainly an wild ride, I'm watching my margin figure as closely as anyone. Will be interesting to see how much further it goes. I think what we need is a holiday in America, the rot sets in each night when the Europeans go home and the Americans have a clear shot at things so they need to be taken out of the equation for a night then we might all get out of our shorts 😇

Quick question--what risk are you using on each of those pairs?

Yeah, the EU guys aren't going to like this deflation too much. I would expect to see a hefty pullback if not a serious turn in trend very soon. Maybe some intervention coming soon.... i am short the EURUSD @1.31084

just thought I would do a quick follow up. At this time i have already taken profit on that EURUSD short. The market is having a lot of trouble break down, so I am now temporarily long biased.

My current worst positions on eu -404 pips & gu -407 still 200 pips or so to the 600 internal SL at worst case scenario. Even if this eventuates I am well in front by now & don't anticipate this will cause too much of a problem with recovery, bearing in mind if this point is reached their will have been plenty of small profitable long trades on the way up to that point. Starting beginning of 2012, I decided to run eu & gu at risk 2 & eg & uc to risk 1 so current equity is 83.89%, better than if I had overall risk of 8 on 4 pairs & more room to move with the margin. Current worst positions for other pairs are -210 pips uc and -80 pips eg. Account leverage 400:1

Hi, guys
I can't believe this! I have took a close look of my micro demo account and compared with my live account during 1/17 to 1/25. wheat I am trying to do is to answer the question whether more pairs are better than less pair and at what cost? this initial observation is not exactly scientifically sound since I did not start both account at same time, but it does give me something to do further investigation. what I found out is that tomea seems to favor signals from winning pair and slow down double down process on lossing pair so that it results in less drawdown but faster profit.
I am wondering anyone is interested to test this observation on your VPS account (uninterrupted trades) because my VPS has run out memory?

Hi, tradingshed
my post is referring to one of previous post here regarding only fxcm, fxdd, and wpfx accepting tom ea now.
To clarify, that's the only 3 brokers that tradency's willing to link-up to Tom's EA. That's should be confirmation- no reply from tradency since 2 days ago when I emailed them to see if it's a misunderstanding as Tom's EA is now refered to an profit agent under tradency (demo a/c @ wpfx).
Those using vps with any broker they selected for this EA; i.e non-tradency, i believe the concern lies more with the vps, not the broker.
i'm considering on thinkforex (max. leverage 1:200) for Tom's EA- free vps (with min. starting equity of 5k but need to trade min. of 4 std lots per month.
Anyone found a better deal besides what's recommended for broker and vps by the vendor for this EA?

I would be interested to see how is everyone managing the DD.
This is the first time I go over 25% and only 2 out of 5 accounts are over that limit. One is around 40% though!
I have now placed stop buy orders above today's high on both EURUSD and GBPUSD on all accounts above 25% DD. Roughly sized up to my current short exposure. Should this thing keep going I will be long roughly the same amount that Tom's is short. thereby kind of 'freezing' my exposure without closing positions. The skill then will be to identify the reversal and close the hedge.
