Hi Drew

Yeah sorry I ' m asking a lot of questions. I m often very thorough, especially when all details matter.

About tuning lot size, backing off on multiplier and why cent account help you reach your objective ... Sorry again, I don t get the idea at all ... 😕

I think I lack knowledge about how TEA sizes lot in relation to Balance = how lot size grow when balance grows too.

I m a tough pupil for you prof 😉

Cheers

Dave

The lot size divisor was changed in order to accept lower Equity in the new version.
Let me check it out before I answer these questions...

I should be receiving it this weekend.

It is a complete re-write of the code - apparently necessary to accomodate
recording the virtual orders to a file, AND the updated MT4 600+ ... - much
code testing and optimization was required...

Also found out that Hedging will no longer be an option as it was causing very
weird behavior, and apparently not that much better performance anyway.
Besides, there would be less drawdown too.

Andri claims to have discovered something to add to the code to really minimize
drawdown (by 40% !!) with no decrease in performance. This remains to be seen.

Please stand by....

Drew,

Good news. Looking forward to testing it. The last few weeks with the old code has not worked well because my MT4 host had issues and kept restarting the software. I kept it running just to see how it would do.

Thanks,

Greg

Hi all. Good news. FX Cure v0.96 EA is ready for testing!

New features: (IMPORTANT: you MUST use MT4 v600 or greater!)

1. No more Global Variables - all Virtual orders are stored in a local file
and retrieved even if your terminal in restarted.

2. T/P can now be chaned to a value other than 30.

3. The Equity divisor of 10000000 can now be changed allowing lower
account sizes or very conservative settings for lower risk.

Available for $17USD if you paid for an earlier version and $32USD if you are starting new.
(Paypal must have raised their fees - they're getting the $2 extra!!)

Send $$ to PayPal at the email address: [email protected] and tell me the email
to where you want the new EA and manual sent.

Here's the manual:

Just a reminder, the upgrade to FX Cure v0.96 is $17USD,
not $15 as I previously wanted.

And for newcomers, this FX Cure EA pre-release is $32USD.

PayPal is taking about 8% it looks like! What happened?

Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Crane.

Yes to all your first 2 questions. We resolved that Hedging issue.

I don't know for sure about the stored file because I'm only 1 day
into a multiplier>0 test. BUT, there's another external variable I
forgot to put in the manual called PREFIX, and that allows you to
add any string (text) characters in front of these files and create a
unique name for each chart, or same for all charts or even left blank.

In the meantime I'll ask Andri, my programmer about the deletion to verify.

Crane. I'm so glad you asked about that basket-closing-files thing because
it brings about the related qustion:

What if the MT4 Terminal is closed too long and the T/P settings have been hit in the downtime?

Well, everytime the EA is started it checks for this and will give an error window.
And like all errors, it is suggested to delete all those files, reset the EA in all charts.

Crane. YES to your third question. ('If the basket is closed, the file in the stored folder will be deleted automatically? ')

Such files are checked for and deleted as invalid on every Tick - which is how often the EA is executed.

But also they're checked and deleted as necessary on recompilation, initializatioin, template applied and
any setting/timeframe/symbol changed.

Also, don't open any data file that is created by this EA while the is EA running as it becomes unreadable!
-This will make the EA loose full access to the file and be unable to Write and Delete the file!

Hope that helps...

Hey Guys,

I think we are all very happy that new version came out.
I'm personally very excited and can't wait for first results to come out.

DREW : has Andri clarified that point ?
'Andri claims to have discovered something to add to the code to really minimize
drawdown (by 40% !!) with no decrease in performance. This remains to be seen.'

Thanks, Cheers !

Dave: I'm testing this hybrid version in my Public MyFXbook files:

and

(pretty sure this one will crash soon)

Results remain to be seen....

Thanks buddy !

Can you disclose the discovery that lead to the idea that DD could be reduced ? (what is the optimization / modification ?)

Thanks, Cheers,

Dave, I have no idea, Andri was not very forthcoming, but I will ask...

English is not his first language and it's really hard to decipher his replies.

May be easier to read the code ;)

Hi all. I said earlier I would test VPS overhead for this new EA and report.

And, for those that are Watching my RoboForex demos, forget it.

I had to trash them because my VPS could not handle the overhead
of 4 MT4 terminals running 28 pairs each. I'm down to 2 IamFX MT4's
on the VPS.

===>It appears one needs about 300MB RAM per such MT4 terminal.

I'm allowed about 750MB and am pushing it to 840MB because of some
system overhead.

I am going to re-set up my RoboForex Demos locally, tomorrow.

Good night....

Okay, I deleted my remaining two accounts from the VPS.
-in case those Watchers wonder what happened to those.

My Demo terminals were gobbling up a lot of resources and causing
a lot of work for the owner - these are SHARED resources after all,
and REAL $$ could be at stake for someone else.

So, I'm setting up new ones, locally over the next couple days.

Hi Everyone

Just thought I would introduce myself to the group. Also wondering if anyone has taken any trades on their MT4 platform using the latest version of Cure. I have it running on 28 pairs with setting multiplier 3 for last three days and still nothing entered.

Interested to hear if anybody is in any trades.

Welcome Gordon.

If you just set up, then it could be 5 trading days or more before any 6X
and larger trades show up (which is what multiplier_filter=3 does).

I think you'll be happy with the results - check out Dave's (he's my Hero ;)
