those 2 (and gbp combo and some others) are all asian session scalpers. since that kind of ea's act all the same, it's not a surprise that they have similar trades. some even have exact same trades and it's obvious that they might use the same ea.
edit: i played and coded around a lot with such scalpers few years ago. they can be very very profitable in certain market conditions, but they react also very very sensitive to changes of those conditions and a strategy which worked well in the past, can fail very quickly if the market changes.

I really wish that myfxbook would allow some more control over stop losses.. because most of my losses could have been eaisly avoided...
Surely it cant be that hard to implement a basic stop loss of break even once price has moved past X pips profit..
Trailing stop loss would be even better...
It's getting a little bit beyond a joke, and ninjatrainer+nightprofits+gpgcombo antics today could have been avoided..

There is clearly strong correlation between 'NinjaTrainer' and 'NightProfit'. Yesterday/today, there were 2 trades from both providers that look to be identical. I'm considering stopping one of the providers but am not sure which one to stop. Does anyone have any suggestion? 😐

@Yonex I mentioned to someone the other day that the trades NinjaTrainer / NightProfit and GBP Combo place are just too identical for it to be a coincidence. I followed all 3 of them at one stage and they would literally open the exact same trades at the exact same moment. GBP Combo obviously only trades the GBP crosses.
It could be one of 2 things, firstly they could all be using the same EA and have tweaked it slightly according to their own needs, or secondly, I wonder whether both NightProfit and GBP Combo are not copying NinjaTrainer's trades via a different system (like MQL5 possibly) and then passing it off as their own system. I'm giving NinjaTrainer the benefit of the doubt here because he has the longest track history.
One thing is for certain, if you follow both NinjaTrainer and NightProfit you are essentially risking twice what you should. I believe GBP Combo is no longer on Autotrade.

I have been a staunch supporter/follower of NinjaTrainer, but with the large current DD I am slightly concerned - it seems out of the ordinary for the system, so I have decided to stop copying his trades until such a time that his equity curve makes a new high. I realise this may mean that I miss out on the recovery, but I'd rather miss out and know that he has managed to recover, instead of sitting through what could prove to be a very large DD and not guarantees of a recovery.

Regarding snowy's comment, I think he is right but there is something else that needs to be said about this topic. These two providers were always similar but it seems that in the past month they have become very similar. Seems the pairs are now the same pairs. I think Ninja also used to be more selective. You would see just one for two trades. In any case I do think trading both with half risk is a good idea but of course everyone needs to do what they think is best.

Could you not run an EA on the same provider thats running the Autotrade signal to implement trailing stop loss?

In fact, with Autotrade is possible not to copy the TP and SL from the provider. Then you can manage the trades manually or use a VPS to run a trade manager EA that would take care of the copied trades.

The thing is that it's not so simple. Autotrade will close trades as the provider closes trades. Meaning that if your provider manually closes a trade then your trade will be closed. If your provider hits the sl or tp then yours will close at market. You can only manage in the reverse. Meaning that you can manage trades to be closed early. I would suggest however that you are paying a pip for these trades. This is a service just like any other. These providers have years of data to show you. Why would you want to mess with a good thing? You might make more today due to closing early but if your provider had closed all of his trades early like you then his equity curve would probably look a lot different. Just some food for thought. I have friends on autotrade and most disagree with me.

I noticed that too, has anyone been tracking number of subscribers of different strategies? I think it is a good indicator to understand if people is happy with the results, or just new people going back ans forth.
I have been using autotrade since less than a month ago and I am losing 26% of mi account. i noticed that slippage is eating my profits, for example while the last profitable lucky pound trade on Friday made 7.6 pips on provider account, it made only 5.3 on mine.
Question is, is there anyone that have been profitable with auto trade in the long term? or this is loop of people that try, lose and quit.

I have been copying live for two months. In July I made +56%, and in August currently -10%.
I think in July the markets were very friendly to the trading style of the traders I follow, and in August the markets weren't so friendly to their styles of trading. You need to be confident about the criteria you believe in for selecting traders to copy, then continue with them long enough for their respective edges to get the market conditions that they need to profit. Fingers crossed we don't lose our account in the meantime :)

It seems that august is not a good month for quite a number of traders. Seeing a number of traders barely scratch some profits and some losses. Well, in trading there are good months and bad months. As long as they came out profit yearly its pretty good enough already.

I have some experience so I know there will be ups and downs but I am concerned about the discrepancy between providers results and our results copying trades because of for example slippage or missing trades... is there anyone in this room that have been using autotrade for lets say at least 12 months and is making money?
