Hello everyone.
I am using my hedging ea to minimize losses. Normally works like a treat.
My broker (ThinkForex) did not locked the trading while the swiss did their trick today, but just made me a huge loss. (75% of my account)
I need some prof to look at my logs because i see lots of slippage and stuff.
I don't really know how to complain to them so if somebody wants to help me send me a pm
I already mailed with thinkforex and this is what they replied:
Hi Bob,
Thank you for contacting ThinkForex. CHF Exchange rates went haywire as the Platform Froze and LP's/Banks stopped pricing after SNB abandoned Floor.
Situation is back to normal now and Pricing is back up, This was the case with all the brokers and banks during that time. If you need any further help or assistance, please feel free to contact us via 24/5 live chat.

You are not the one who blew the account . There is nothing you can do actually.

Iam sorry that you got caught.
There is many things that can be said abouts todays movement.
From top of my mind - it was a dirty trick that got some people incredibly rich.
For me CHF is the worst currency to trade since 2011 and it will never safe haven anymore in my eyes.
I do not think that you con do anything about a loss other than accept it.
All the brokers I use were sending emails about 30 minute gap in liquidity , so your system propably hedged at movements end and if it manged to get a quote during it spreads were propably out of this world.
Best regards
M

I got this email from IC Markets today
Dear Client,
This email is concerning the CHF position(s) on your trading account and the prices streamed across the CHF pairs that have affected you today.
Today at 11:30 platform time (GMT+2) the Swiss National Bank removed the floor at 1.20 on the EURCHF currency pair which caused extreme volatility in all CHF pairs and the market in general. Over this period we saw spreads widen significantly which in turn caused the activation of price filters to stop pricing. Once pricing stopped on our main Integral price feed our backup price feed from Currenex was allowed to price. It was at this time that some liquidity providers were able to stream erroneous prices to IC Markets and execute client trades at prices they shouldn’t have.
Today IC Markets will be amending the prices on trades done across the CHF pairs with our liquidity providers. Once we have had these trades amended we will begin the process of adjusting clients accounts. This may include but not be limited to the actions below:
• Reinstatement of positions where appropriate and possible
• Amendment of open/close prices on trades
• Assessment of client portfolios closed due to insufficient margin
• Adjusting client cash balances to reflect the actions above
IC Markets staff will be working as fast as possible to complete the above and restore trading accounts to their correct state. We appreciate your patience as we complete this.
Kind regards,
IC Markets Trade Desk

Liquidity got pulled from the markets so there was nothing to close your position against. That's why you didn't get a margin call.
Best regards Steve
