1.) What are the time frames for the charts that your EA is attached to (Website seems to indicate that it doesn't matter). Does the 1-minute chart get more trades then the 1-week chart?

2.) What specific setting in this EA turns on/off money management?

Thanks for the feedback Mike. I have used this type of hedging strategy, but when the market started fluctuating around the hedging positions' entry and exit prices, the hedging EA started chewing up the account in small pieces like a piranha.

My questions:
1. How do you prevent what I have described above?
2. Is it a calculated risk and you just plan to tough it through the end until the market moves out of the hedging position's range? In this case what was the worst historical DD created by the hedging position?

Thanks,

FMG

Hello Xcalper,

https://www.xcalper.com/tests/xcalper_1.htm

Backtest on your site is only for 5 months. That is really little. You can do backtest for 4 years. Thanks

1: Any timeframe works. doesnt matter.
2: EA always does money management. we can do customized version for clients who want fix lot size.

we dont recommand to keep the hedge protection running all the time. only when you feel market is very unstable.

The reason they don't do more than 5 months and hence why he has ignored you is because it has flaws and will very quickly eat your account when backtests are done for a long period of time. So they are out to take your money and run.

Also I should mention than backtest can be easily manipulated but live account cannot.

It seems that the EA has multiple trade setups on practically every day, however, it is strange that on backtests between Febr. 8-15 and March 04-14 there was no single trade triggered.

Was the EA stopped for those days or it is just happened so?

Thanks!

Everything can be manipulated except LIVE results which can be OBSERVED not showing an altered statement. Been there done that for decades!

Hi, the backtested version was alot more conservative. the version we run is more aggressive. Aggressiveness of the EA can be controlled through the external parameters of the EA.

Xcalper,

What happened to your ibfx account (posted in your website) you have lost over USD 1600 ? This also looks like the hedge did not work out. 😲

Kaptain

Can't believe the lack of discussion on this thread.... Been monitoring Xcalper live (and demo) accounts for a while now, and the results seem pretty astounding on the live account. Yes the hedge didn't work on the demo account and it went pop, but I do wonder if that was because it was on a conventional wide spread IBFX account versus the low latency narrow spread IC Markets live account.

Xcalper, any comment on that?

Let's get some discussion going here...!

Hi,

the fact that the hedge protection didnt work on demo was because of the internet disconnection on that server. exact same trade was generated on real account and was successful.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mike
