This is hilarious.Already pages and pages of discussion about the account verification requirement on this thread for a week, and we still have dozens of idiots on here after the contest starts wondering why they can't trade. Unfortunately I'm sure the people arguing on the broker's behalf won't heed your warning, because they haven't even been able to grasp the reason most of us don't want to give our vital information to some Belize Bucket Shop. All I see is posts saying [trollvoice] "oh wow that's SO HARD to copy your ID hehehe lololol" [/trollvoice]... as if we are concerned that it requires too much effort to send in our documents.

Nope.The key words are "IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE".As seen in the rules page: "To participate in the FX Choice Contest you have to register for the contest providing the details requested. Please provide a link to proof that it is not mandatory. Numerous people have already shown emails from the broker telling them they MUST register (I got that email too)... AND they have added a paragraph to the rules page that was not there before that states traders must provide their documents.

There are no such "rules" in the real world so this is a dumb idea IMHO. If somebody wants to trade balls out they should be allowed to...if they make good trades and know what they are doing they win big...if not, they blow up their account real fast. I've said this before but I'll say it again: Soros didn't become rich and famous by risking 2% per trade. That's just the way it is with short 1 month contests like these. If you want a "prop trading simulator" type of contest, go enter the Dukascopy one.

That last contest thread set a new record for dumb questions easily answered by reading the rules...and definitely for the most whiners. Hopefully this will be better...though I see the questions have already started.We do need to clarify the rule regarding "commercial robots" though. As a couple others have asked, how would they differentiate between EA's that were purchased and ones that were coded by the trader themselves....or ones downloaded for free. Does this mean no EA's at all? (I don't use them so it makes no difference to me...but this IS a good question th...

Hmmm...well after seeing the insane gains the leaders had I decided I had no chance in hell so I downloaded some random HFT EA from the internet just to see what it would do. It did horribly. It placed a whole bunch of silly trades, most of them losers. I didn't even take the time to try and figure out how it was making decisions. Anyway, I hope I don't get DQ'd for that stupid thing. Now I'm mad that I had kinda thrown in the towel on this contest and made some silly random manual trades on NFP too...on top of that pathetic EA. Oh well.

Come on people...everyone with any experience knows that these contests are not a good measure of the "best real life trader". Even without automated trading, the winners of these contests always trade massive risk that they would likely never take on with a real account. But on the flip side, even though you could have a "no robots" contest, you can't really start putting limits on risk per trade etc "to make it more like real trading"...because the fact is, someone COULD trade with maximum leverage in real life if they wanted to. Anyone else notice the Bid/Ask lines on the charts do not match the prices in the Market Watch window? They also denote higher spreads. Market watch shows spreads of around 0.3 or 0.2 for EURUSD and GBPUSD most of the time, but the chart lines are showing spreads of 2.2 etc. The attached screenshot shows spread of 2.2 on the chart, but 0.2 on the market watch.http://www.myfxbook.com/files/jdwbryan/chartcap1.JPG
