I suspect that if you change num orders to a higher level it will trade more frequently. I believe that it will change the height of the bollinger band and enter sooner than most everybody. It could also create bigger losses since it is entering earlier in the spike. If this assumption is correct you will have your slightly different timing that you are looking for. If I am incorrect in my understanding of the num order setting let me know.Dan

Too bad, you missed out on all the profits.............Every time there is a little drawdown the negative crowd shows up. Never hear from you guys when a profit is made.

For all those who had large drawdowns go through this thread and look at posts by myself and people like professor 53 etc.We all have talked about using low leverage, low max sim orders and modest risk etc, etc.Those that are using 400:1 and max sim 8 along with high risk settings are doomed to failure. Both my accounts had drawdowns today but they are minor due to conservative settings.If you took a big hit today, don't give up. You will probably made it back. Dan

nothing here. Spikes need to be around 30 pips or so in about a minute.

IBFX has two VPS companies they recommend that have very low latency. They are a bit more expensive than other services but they are very close to their datacenters so the latency is very low.If you are using a demo account the results will be far different than a live account. I would suggest you use a live account and set the risk very low. In this way you can "tweak" your settings until you are happy with them without risking much capital.Dan

Pianosso,Did you use 1 minute data or every tick data?I don't think 1 minute data would accurately reflect the function of the trailing stop.

The protection against the platform freezing is probably the most important thing. I looked at Gary's account and he is doing better than mine this year so I am not so sure whether it increases profitability or not too much. On two occasions in the last 6 months the platform had froze for at least 5 minutes. Luckily the trades went in my favor but if they went the other way without the trailing stop it could have been disasterous....Dan

I am using IBFX US and have fifo off and hard trailing stop true. I read in another forum that US Brokers automatically enforce fifo rules so we dont have to worry about which trade to close first. In the post I am referring to the author made the case that everything you add for the ea to do simply slows down the speed of the ea. The forex police have not come after me yet. :)

This is a smam ea. I only tripled my money when I should have made maybe 10 times. If I ask for my money back do I have to also have to send back my profits?

I notice your win percentage is 26% this year. I am at 51%. A few months ago I lowereded max sim to 1 and the results increased dramatically. Fewer trades but very little drawdown.Dan

I had small profits today on both my accounts. January is starting out slow. What is hard to do is keep things in perspective. If you earn 10% or more on your investments you are doing fantastic. The bank pays less than 2% a year. Stocks went nowhere over the last 10 years. I don't understand why folks are complaining about the ea not being updated. For many of us it is working just fine. What has been working for me is low leverage, low risk and max sim 1 or 2. The key is not to catch a bad spike and see the account drop 25-50% in one day. Remember if you go down 50% you need to go up 100...
