September Fed Interest Rate Decision

Good Day Gentlemen/Women,I am trying to get a perspective on the Fed interest Rate decision coming up. If the Fed decides to raise interest rates in September, I take it this would be a sign that the US Economy is strengthening, therefore the dollar is becoming a lot stronger versus other currency pairs. This would therefore mean that pairs pegged against the USD for example EUR/USD, GBP/USD would see a sharp drop on the day .Please let me know if my rationale is correct...

I guess every one version of profitable varies. For some large draw downs are acceptable but for me if you make consistent profit for and extended period of time with minimum draw down... your in the game.

Thanks guys for the correction,So just to be sure, A leverage of 1:5 would mean I would require a capital of $20,000 to trade 1 standard lot?So an account balance of lets say $8,000 with a leverage of 1:5 on the account, my max open positions on aggregate would have to total 8,000 /20000 = 0.4 lots.If that is the case that is extremely low but I can see why its safe. Today I learnt a very important lesson on leverage thanks to a call from an FXCM representative...I have always had a problem understanding the concept. It all depends on your game plan and your strategy...Always have a game plan.Personally for myself its counter productive for me to be watching the markets all day, but what works for me may not work for others. You have to know yourself and find a pattern/schedule/game plan that is comfortable for you.Forex is a journey/lifestyle let it become one with you. And try not to let it upset anything else in your life.

That's the thing with this game of forex, everyone is different, some like robots, some like scalping, some like swing trading etc etc.Not everyone can follow a specific set of rules, everyone is different, different level of patience a different level of risk aversion and so on. You need to find what works for you and come up with your own style that is comfortable to you and makes you money.I've been doing this thing 5 years and have never been consistently profitable on a real account but I'm still at it. The forex market is by far the most exciting and exhilarating project/thing I have done. The fact that it can offer financial freedom (and Im not talking about getting rich quick) is motivation enough for me. And the fact that only a few are successful at it makes me want to pursue it even more, so that when I am successful the bragging rights will be ohhh soooo goood.
