High leverage , High risk ?

Guys, guys... hold your horses. The leverage used has nothing to do with risk management. Those are two completely separate things. You can risk 2% with 1:1 leverage and with 1:500 leverage.
Choosing the Right Broker

Really? So, you develop a strategy that works on the demo conditions set by the broker by their own algo - make it profitable, then open a live account and use the same strategy - it loses because the conditions and algorithms are different. You should always test your strategies with brokers that have same conditions on demo as on live. Otherwise, you're just wasting your time, and eventually money.

Is it just me or is there something ironic about trading on the financial market in order to try and achieve financial freedom/independence?

The best traders I've seen have 60-70% win rate. But you should not confuse win rate with profitability. You can have 40% win rate and still be profitable. It's all about the strategy and lot sizes.
Reasons why you should NOT trade cryptocurrencies

The leverage on cryptos is 2:1. They are highly volatile, so that leverage makes sense. You don't have to buy the whole bitcoin, nor do you have to trade bitcoins... You can always trade ETH, LTC, XRP and other coins.I don't see what the problem is?
Which Spreads ?

Like the others before me said - Fixed spreads is a sign that that broker is a Market Maker. Variable spreads = ECN or DMA/STP brokerI'd add just another note - most brokers offer Marked-up spreads (the commission is included in the spread) which makes the spread even bigger. You should look for brokers that provide Core Spreads (= Market spread) and they will charge commission separately. Which is good because you can clearly see how much is the commission you pay for each trade. You can read more about those here - https://www.jfdbrokers.com/en/core-vs-marked-up-spreads
Can Leverage be changed?

Some brokers will allow you to apply for changes in the leverage rates. At least, they used to. Now that ESMA's regulation is in effect - you have to first apply for a professional trader status and then apply for the leverage you want.

Yes and no. It all depends on your broker. If the broker allows HFT - you can do it. If not …Start looking for a broker that will allow it. Usually, a broker not allowing HFT and Scalping means that they have internal system issues and their servers cannot handle the pressure and/or cannot execute them fast enough. Either way - it's best to find a broker that allows HFT, scalping and hedging.

I agree. That "broker" is a company registered in Dominica but is not regulated anywhere (as seen on their website and legal documents). Also, they claim to be an NDD but offer signup and deposit bonuses which is the trademark sign for a bucket shop/market maker. I would not trust them with a demo account, not to mention depositing any money...

Great work @Professional4X I personally do not feel any compassion for anyone that gets scammed by such schemes because IMHO it's Darwin's theory of evolution in play here. Anyone with half a brain who was smart enough to find this community and wanting to start investing in forex should (in theory) at least be able to do their own research and see the huge red signs a mile away. If a person is gullible enough to get scammed by the likes of what you've shared above deserves to have their money taken away from them. /rant over/ sorry.
ESMA and its implication

I have to agree with Pipperidge on this one. The leverage cap does not mean you will lose less - it means that you have to deposit more to trade the same amounts which results in the same losses, only faster because you can't keep your margin high enough and will get closed out faster. This may not affect all traders the same, because the ones that used to trade ~50:1 leverage will have a bit of an improvement actually, but only for major pairs where the leverage is 30:1 because the margin levels have been dropped as well from 100% to 50%. 50:1 -> 30:1 and combined with 100% -> 50% t...

Guys, in general I agree with you. But there are a few conditions that MUST be present for a demo test to be successful and to actually help with the learning. 1. Demo account MUST have the same trading conditions as live2. Leverage and starting equity must be the same as you'd use once you move to a live account. 3. Strategies must factor in the slippage.

Have you ever heard they saying - No such thing as a free lunch? If a broker gives you "free" money as a bonus this should tell you 3 things: 1. It's a Market Maker (bucket shop) 2. They want you to overtrade and lose your money. 3. They do not want you to withdraw your money.

How on Earth did you find them if they are not showing in Google search in the first place?Seems awfully fishy. Anyway - Check their regulation. Always do. If they are not regulated with a big authority - I'd recommend you stay away.
Forex is profitable ?

Forex is profitable. Not for all, but still. You can check the EU-regulated brokers to see how many of their clients are profitable and how many lose. Maybe this is the only good thing, apart from the ban on Binary Options that has come from the new ESMA regulations. For example - my broker's stats are 1/4 (25% win / 75% lose).
