Hey traders!

I’ve been trading for a bit now, but my profits have been pretty modest. I don’t have a lot of capital to work with, and I’m super careful about risk, keeping it around 1-3% of my account per trade so I don’t blow up my balance. It’s a cautious approach, but with such a small account, it feels limiting at times.

I’m considering joining a prop firm for the funding boost, but I’m seeing mixed opinions about them. Some people seem to do really well, while others are less convinced. One thing I’ve noticed is that some firms offer extra resources, like trading academies, which sounds pretty appealing since I’m always up for improving my skills. For example, TTF has a whole academy that covers a lot beyond just basic trading, plus they offer a 90% profit share—sounds like a good deal if it really delivers.

So, I’m curious—has anyone here tried out prop firms? Which ones have you had good experiences with, and have you actually managed to grow your account? Would love to hear any insights from those who’ve been there! Thanks!

Prop firms that take money for participation have a lot of conditions. They earn on payment of fees. I tried one well-known firm for СME. For me it was an extra psychological burden. In my opinion, it is better to look for a large investor and simultaneously pump up your account. Observe a small drawdown and an average income of 2.5% per month and investors will find you themselves. Do not forget to make a track record of your account here.
I wish you success!

As has been mentioned above their business model is based on gather fees from participants in various ways. They basically sell you the hope that they will grant investments to you, but it is extremely unlikely they intend to do that even for successful participant. There is no binding agreement for them to do that
