The equity curve of this EA coincides with my feeling of the market, where trend trading started going south somewhere in September 2016, and only now has reversed in April of 2018. Although the draw-down of it is far too high for a decent sized account, I think that this EA could do great in the future, banking on an emerging trending market.

http://www.pointzero-trading.com/Products/view/PZSafetyNetEACosts 300USD. I believe it starts hedging the losing trade with martingale, trying to come out as a winner. Will only work if the original position is not too big in lotsize. Use at own risk...as with all martingale. Personally I would not use it.

2014 is probably not the easiest market to trade in, but to be honest I find the results disappointing. It looks like Kruger does not know when it's better to get out of a trade, and when to take profit while he can.

Multi-core systems won't do you any good for backtesting. Only fast CPU will help. MT4 is single threaded.

You should contact your bank or cc company. Sometimes they offer some kind of customer protection against bankruptcy. That should be in the small print.

There is a good chance that this VPS provider has gone bust. Their website has been down almost a week now, without any notice to customers. They claim to have about 80k customers worldwide. If you have recently paid them any money for renewing your subscription with them, you'd better cancel that through your cc company. I am looking for a new provider. I payed in advance for my subscription and I consider the money as lost.

Perhaps X Trader is what you are looking for: http://codebase.mql4.com/8407. However, this EA cannot be profitable without prior optimizing.

I find the equity curve of this account scary. It is very reminiscent of the equity curve you see on martingale or grid systems. It can go well for a long time, until one day there comes a loss so big it takes half of the account with it. How likely is that to happen here?

I noticed on your account statement (before you hid it) that there was a loss with 900 pips SL. 😲 I wonder where you got the idea of placing such a wide SL? The 30% drop in your account was in my opinion due to the fact that you were betting on the yen to go down again. I almost made the same mistake, but I got out in time. The Japanese central bank has declared war on other currencies (that's right, it is a currency war), and you should never fight a central bank! That is a lesson we all learn in time.

Due to the poor performance, I am inclined to pull the plug on this demo. Most of the trades are closed at stoploss level, when it should be on take profit level. Apparently this demo was opened at the wrong moment.

100% win strategies look good in the beginning, but after a while they create so much DD, it will blow your account for sure. Good money management requires that you stick with your stoplosses. Once set, they should not be moved. They are there for your protection! It requires guts to admit that you were wrong. Close the losing trades and learn from it.
