yep big banks don't use leverage and if they make 0.5% they are happy already, try to make 0.5%/month consistently without leverage and you maybe have a short a becoming a good trader.

You say you are trend trading, but why are you opening and closing so many trades per week? If you trend trade then your stops (automatic or mental should me wide enough) I understand that you want to catch the big wave but by doing so you will lose little by little and it can take a while for the big wave to come..I am experiencing the same problems right now and it's difficult sometimes to synchronise your trading and the plan you have in mindI think you should take your profits more quickly since you are opening so many trades per week, you will be profitable and that's the only thi...

So I decided to make a little bet today, by that I mean opening positions before the FED news later today that will probably greatly influence the EUR/USD pair..here is what I did: 1. Bought the EUR/AUD @ 1.2359 because of the little pin-bar reversal of yesterday on the daily chart, maybe a little late but I'm on vacation and i'm not in front of my screen too often. I expect the EUR/USD to continue it's move up towards at least 1.30 and I also think that the AUD will stay under pressure especially with the "China-hard landing news" that keeps on coming. risking 50 pips, ...

The EUR/CAD looks good, it just broke the above resistance without a problem at 1.26, but as always lately there is some "very important news event" today with the FED monetary policy decision at 16.30 GMT, I'm getting tired of those news events..so I will wait to take a long here, same with a long with the ERU/AUD, although that one looks really good right now around 1.2355

This is a EUR/USD threat..for that pair I will be looking for a pull-back to the previous resistance line around 1.2830 which is a support line now, if that level holds on the Daily it is a buy signal with a stop and target of minimum 1:2 risk:reward

ok..I'm seeing a strong pin-bar reversal on the EUR/AUD pair, if it can manage to close above 1.2320 it will give a strong bullish signal. You can then enter a buy order around that level, with a stop below the resent lows around 1.2220 and a minimum target price at 1.2520, that a R:R of 1:2.

Ow don(t worry I want to double my account too! ;)Those AUD trades really are working very well, finally i didn't closed them but I moved the stop on a R:R of 1:1, so now i am very much in profit, almost 4% up on my account with pretty small positions :D This is what i want to see, anyway I am going to close very soon now

For example I took a net long on the GBP/AUD @ +- 1.5040 when I saw the Pin-bar reversal of 21/08For the EUR/AUD I saw that it was holding the support line so I entered @ 1.1840 with a stop under the support line, of course now both positions are BE

Nice list of open trades, I see that you also caught the EUR/AUD and GBP/AUD trend..I am thinking about closing my positions before the jackson hole thing which will create a lot of volatility as always when Ben opens his mought...All in all I had a pretty good August month with now 2% floating gains. I take minimum risk to ensure a stable account with a DD that I try to keep below 1%...in the beginning I had an 8% DD but I wasn't managing my account. These are difficult conditions to trade!! This month may be the worst month I ever saw in PA. I think it's better to stay at the sidelines and only trade the big opportunities and wait for september, the problem is that i leave on vacation that month! Terrible!! :DAs you can see I made some small losses in August, averaging a loss of 0.4% so that's still acceptable, I will be looking for pairs with a very strong trend to take some big positions, i want to make some percentages, maybe I will even risk 1% on a trade

yes i am watching aud/jen for a break of the 82.30 level, i think aud can go back to 1.0420, it's also interesting to see how eur/aud is trading near resistance line

I think it's difficult to forecast EUR/$, thats why i prefer to trade cross-pairs of the EUR, the same for the other main pairs

Interesting FOMC statement, everybody expected some sort of QE...nothing of course :), this is good for the dollar, in the sense that the $ value will not be diluted more and (2) this is negative for future economic recovery in US, so traders see this as a sign to buy $ as safe haven

Hi there, A lot of volatility this week due to "news", actually just a statement from Draghi was enough to create a short squeeze, I had this feeling in the beginning of the week of a possible short squeeze, and it happened (look at posts from monday) ! I had different conflicting feelings, i couldn't let a trade run because i had a 'bad feeling'. This resulted in me taking shorts on EUR and other correlated pairs but with a very tight mental stop, on thursday i closed everything, just on time!! Let's see what the next weeks will bring...I HATE this news events, it ma...

I'm thinking the EUr/AUD trade is over for now...the EUR has a hard time going lower and if it goes lower I think AUD will do ot faster since there anren't so many shorts around thereI'm going to start looking for some YEN buyingHave a difficult week since the deadline for my thesis is today, actually don't have time to trade anymore this week :((( I will put some limit orders :D

I am looking for a reversal on the GBP/Yen to retest the previous supportline which is now resistance, I opened a short on the EUR/AUD again ( I love to trade the AUD and the cross pairs!!) , but not too big, EUR/Cad took some profit and opened again, EUr/$ short for longer term will add to this one, my trading was very sloppy yesterday, that's what happens when you sit all day before your computer :D

You use a cross of the 7 and 21 EMAs on the Daily chart to identify a signal? Honestly I dont know what to do now, one part of me sees the EUR disaster but the other part tells me that a short sqeeze is comming before the end of the week..this translated into taking partly profits on the EUR/CAD and selling the EUR/$ at 1.2085 (too low I know) and than selling back the EUR/CAD :p...the $/CAD is in a downward channel and will soon hit the above resistance line so that will be the moment to add to a EUR/CAD SHORT
