I use FXDD (US) for multiple accounts and they allow hedging.

Personally, I don't compare my returns to the "risk-free" rates like 10-year US treasury bonds. Since the current yield of the 10-year US treasury bond is 2.76%, then if your yearly returns are 2.76%, then you're Sharpe Ratio is about 1.0 (give or take). The only Sharpe that I use is for writing with. I think the article is suggesting that the average hedge fund is finding it difficult to make yearly gains that beat the 10-year bond yields due to lower volatility in the market. I totally agree with this. Interestingly, the top hedge fund in 2012 made a YTD Total Return o...

The last sentence should have read:My "FXRX-Live1" account has almost a 55% drawdown right now and I will still pay taxes this year.

I am aware of 2 US regulated brokers that allow full hedging (multiple buys and sells of the same pair without any restrictions). Using two accounts seems painful and doesn't have the same effect on your margin level.

I don't think it is popular knowledge that your account drawdown can be over 100% and not blow an account. All this really means is that your "top line" aka balance is above your "bottom line" aka equity by more than 100%. My "FXRX-Live1" account has almost an 83% drawdown right now and I will still pay taxes this year.

Yes, just click my name. The broker of the "FXRX-Live1" account is FXDD. I have several public profiles that can be seen there.

The numbers I gave in the example above are from my real 50:1 US account called "FXRX-Live1. Not sure where you heard 30% DD will blow your account. There are several US brokers that allow hedging as I am a big fan.

I don't think a high drawdown is an indication of a failing system or reckless trading. For example, a system that can make 200% in a year but has a drawdown of 70% is still a very useful system. You can find some very "famous" hedge fund managers, who will remain nameless, with over 50% drawdowns. Account drawdown to me is only a component of risk management.

Most martingale strategies that are used to trade Forex are very slow to grow an account and would take days or months before the percentage gain was interesting. Not sure if a video of a few trades would be interesting. The risk of a major loss increases significantly with the speed of the gains.

The way to hedge a runaway martingale is to tally up the number of lots in the buy and sell direction and place what I call "anchor pegs" in the opposite direction at 50 pip increments (forward stepping). These orders should have TPs that are over 1000 pips as they are not designed to make money but rather control equity. Once price moves above the "anchor peg" 100 pips higher than the first "anchor peg" then add an SL of 3 pips above the open order price.Example:If you have an account with $1000, and now after several levels of martingale you are down to $600 a...

I believe that developing your strategy with an EA and then running the EA with periodic intervention is the best combination. Essentially, a hybrid approach. I think developing a strategy from only visual review and then demo testing is severely less thorough and prone to error. Have you ever thought you discovered an amazing strategy visually but then find it only works for 2 months?
