I totally agree Steve, if you look at the vendor's account, it made a killing in June and July last year, around 36% gain, I made a killing then with this bot too.. steve is right with his stats, my backtests show the same.. leave it running, but feel the pain! Love the Pain :o)

so IBFX are based out of the states, that means you would have to set the FIFO setting to true, does that negatively influence the profitability of the trades?

so thinkforex is now hosting all their servers with Rackspace in San Antonio... at some point they moved from New York without telling anyone.. the ping time from my NYC VPS has dropped from 1-2ms down to 9ms-12ms.. the trace route test I performed confirmed it.... the distance is huge, it's like Moscow to London.. and no doubt thier liquidity providers are still in New York further increasing the lag time and increase in off-quotes and slippage.. that would explain why I was doing quite well and then not all of a sudden... low latency is so important.. might also be part of the reason why...

that's interesting.. I do have $50,000 to throw at them if it works... they seem to actually be based in London with a branch office in Denmark based on the company headquarter address and phone numbers for support... beyond that, what about rewritting the EA to work with FIX Currenex Accounts?I guess everyone is waiting for Pepperstone to finish migration of their servers to the NYC Datacentre...

so there must be a way to get faster execution times.. has anyone thought to try and reprogram MDP and convert the EX4 to work with the Dukacopy JForex platform directly? I know they have a trade copier plugin and a 3rd party mt4 platform but I can only imagine that this is too slow to be effective.. I have been reading that dukascopy are having slippage issues in recent times and insuffcient liquidity but they maybe BS or a temporary hiccup.. I've heard their execution times are mostly the best in the business...anyone?

so I'm using the swiss army trailing stop on one account and Advanced trailing EA on another but it's doing some pretty strange things, even though they are both set to trail profits only at 15 pips, sometimes it will take a 15 pip loss right away or close just about break even (like 1-3 pips) and if it does close the trade early, even though I've set Forex Growth bot settings to "trade manual control" to true, it will usually open an opposing position later on for the same amount ... I assume that this is the result when it tries to close a trade that no longer exists du...

so does anyone have a consensus on which is the best broker for MDP? the one's I've heard alot about areIBFX - except they seem to be a market maker which is not so goodFinfx - some say good on demo but rubbish on live with slippage and too far from a good VPS host meaning latency probsPepperstone - comes up alot but people say they used to be good but now are crap with execution times.. seems to be a running theme on this board...anyone? :o)

yes, I believe the bottleneck which causes the delays with orders getting filled is with the brokers servers rather than the liquidity providers or the market grid as a whole.. that's why a broker will be good to start with then when everyone else jumps on with the same bot, broker servers get overloaded at the same time and orders dont' get fill fast enough.. this has been mentioned multiple times on this forum....

so it seems like IBFX is quite good with this bot but they are not an ecn/stp brokers, seems to be more like a market maker...regardless I've tested alot of brokers and most of them have processing times of under 1000ms and sometimes 200ms but at the times when MDP trades it seems to create a bottleneck of orders due to perhaps so many other traders using the same EA and the fact that MDP trades during fast market movements (spikes) and high volumes increasing the chances to re-quotes, queued orders etc etc.. which ultimately leads to delays...after reading alot of these posts it seems tha...

I got punished with thinkforex, losses outweighed gains, 14 trades taken... Processing time is increasing.. And by the looks of the other posts I'm not the only one.. More and more people are using this bot which is overloading the brokers servers.. Need to setup a private dedicated processing server somehow...

anyone, running MDP with Hotforex would do well to check out this forum: http://www.donnaforex.com/forum/index.php?topic=2904.1035 it outlines some very real issues with hotforex and latency issues, I believe this is due to their server hosting company Webazilla who I've heard are a powerfully average at best....

The Execution speeds are actually a bit worse than I thought on my hotforex VIP account, I compared Thinkforex to Hotforex, they are both on separate VPS servers getting 3ms and 7ms respectivelyThinkforex is getting Avg. Execution time of 4413ms and Hotforex is getting 6298msThinkforex is getting Avg. Open Time of 5486ms and Hotforex is getting 23018ms !!!!Thinkforex is getting Avg. I agree Fughe, thanks for the advice, I notice a few other posts stating they have turned off those 2 settings, I'll certainly see if that makes a difference... I'm also going to run a broker execution test from forex-expats and see what it comes back with...

Thanks Fughe,I totally agree and I thought it could be some or all of those issues too, #1 there are no internet connection issues in the log and my vps promises 99.9% uptime so perhaps the chances of the connection going down at the time of trading would be quite low however still possible but in this case looks fine#2 This could be an issue and is the most likely, although I've been assured by both brokers that the servers are working properly.. I may ask them to move my account to another server to test however#3 when checking the FAQ's and terms and conditions they both (thinkforex...

Thanks pakfx, it seems like the ping times are good but the error message saying that the order modification time failed is concerning, I'm guessing that my broker is taking too long to process the trade requests at 2300ms and 2999ms instread of the specified <1000ms.... And I saw an earlier post saying the bot will only work well if processing is around 800ms or better... Does that make any sense to anyone?

Hi all, This seems to be a good bot, I've seen a few live accounts with good results and the backtests with dukascopy tick data support that.... I've been running MDP on Hotforex VIP and Thinkforex Pro accounts, these both have very low spreads, ECN accounts and are commission based however, it takes only 20-30% of the trades listed on the myfxbook accounts, I'm running all default settings, does anyone know if there are settings that need to be modified in order for this bot to function properly? of the trades that it is taking, it seems to be working well...the error messages on ...

Thanks, I guess by "use a trailing EA" you mean to use something like Swiss Army EA, btw, does anyone know where to download this from? I know a few people on this forum are using it, would you be able to share the settings that are working for you? my thoughts are to move to breakeven after 10 pips in profit to prevent whipsaws from turning a profitable trade into a losing one... but I'm sure much more can be done :o)

Hey guys, does anyone know of a way to set growth bot to move stops to break even after a 10 pop profit? It would seem that this would prevent the huge losses without substantially reducing gains. I'm not sure if there is this function in power edition or if you need to use something like Swiss army ea to do this for you, in which case growth bot has a function to ensure open trades match the internal logic so by a 3rd party closing the trade, growth bot would just open new positions of the same value if I've got that right...In a perfect world i wound like to see growth bot exit based...

Yes, Definately! maybe a feature where if 2 Trending losses (not trades) are made within a 12 or 24 hour period then the EA is disabled until that time period has elasped or if a pip movement of over 100 pips is made on a single 15 minute candle as we saw this morning (123 pips) then this trend should be ignored and the EA should be disabled for the same 12/24 hour period as it just created an immensely volatile market and creates and instant overbought/oversold situation where the chance of a pull back to get stopped out after the bot has bought in is very, very high....
